@timothypeckover
Hahaha literally though! *spends 1 hour setting up template* *doesn’t use template*
Also there’s something about the UI that doesn’t get me excited to use it. Might be the colors and kanban style?
@stoolpresidente
@dieworkwear
Some feedback for you. Your legal policy templates are missing some sections/haven't been filled out.
You can check out
@enzuzoprivacy
; we have custom legal policy generators, cookie banners, etc. for Shopify stores & we're in the app store.
@clarkmkendall
I think the best use case is a company wiki, internal processes and docs and updated maybe quarterly? I don't think employees should be working out of it and using it daily. Things get out of date and messy quickly.
Hard truth: Most merchants on Shopify are not making any money. Like probably 90% of stores (guessing). The churn is also insane. I'm not sure why nobody talks about this in relation to their Stock price.
@curatingChurros
They market themselves as "workspace where better, faster work happens." But it's high time/effort to set up and then you have to maintain it and keep it up to date. So it can become a black hole of busywork.
For the people in the back. TikTok is ~not~ just teens dancing. I’ve seen medical doctors, marketing pros, construction workers, moms, entrepreneurs and more making genuinely helpful and quality content.
Knocking something you know nothing about doesn’t make you cool or edgy.
Can anyone recommend a great freelance designer?
Looking for a visual designer to create some stylized UX/UI mockups and basic illustrations.

Downloads in downloads. Screenshots live on desktop duhhhh 😂 don't get me started on those, sometimes I move them to a folder called "Sort"
What's your current title, and what title do you want in the future?
I'll go first.
Current: Growth Marketing Manager
Future: VP of Brand or VP of Content
Layoffs can be hard for "safe" people too:
✔️ Losing teammates or managers
✔️ Picking up the work of eliminated roles
✔️ Massive hit to their sense of job security
✔️ Decline in positive work culture
I've been on both sides of the coin. Thinking of everyone at Shopify.
Created a TikTok for our brand and in 24 hours with one post so far we've got:
✔️ 6245 views (and growing)
✔️ 172 followers
✔️ 258 likes
A lot of the TikTok followers also followed on Instagram.
Posted the same video on Reels and interested to see how it compares.
@KevinEspiritu
I haven’t played around with clickup in awhile going to check it out. All these Notion competitors are starting to have the same UI we need to spice it up.
Year 3 of my immediate family mutually agreeing to not to exchange Christmas Gifts. A game changer!
Now it's about spending quality time, not consumerism.
With Shopify recently acquiring influencer app Dovetale, it got me thinking.
Do you think Shopify will continue to "eat" its own ecosystem? And how will it impact competitor apps?
Starting an eCommerce brand in Canada is so much more expensive. It's no wonder people aren't launching brands left and right.
- Most manufacturers charge in USD (our dollar sucks)
- Import taxes and duties
- Expensive shipping within Canada and worldwide
What am I missing?
Things only a marketer would know. Many of the DTC brands "featured in - Vogue, Vanity Fair, etc." logos were actually paid for via ad space by the brand so they can use them for social proof on their website.
For whoever needs to hear this:
1. You are not your job
2. Try to avoid making your job your entire personality (guilty)
3. The company you work for does not define your worth or success
4. Your coworkers are not your family
5. Disassociation is healthy

My salaried roles over the last 5 years in tech (all different companies). Hopping around is frowned upon, however, the biggest benefit beyond salary increases is the ability to upskill and learn.
Get a full-time job they said. You'll have job security they said.
Ok but in all seriousness. As someone who's been laid off in tech, it's hard to hear these announcements. I predict many A-players going freelance in the next year.
If Shopify Ads aren't working for you, it might not be the keywords — the issue might be your Shopify App Listing.
Here are 3 quick tips to better optimize your App listing for conversion. ⬇️
It's pretty exciting to work in an industry that's being heavily disrupted (data privacy).
Shopify Apps like
@klaviyo
@OctaneAI
@omnisend
@enzuzoprivacy
are taking privacy changes seriously and innovating the way brands approach customer marketing in the future. 🚀
Working on an article about the "unsexy side of running a Shopify store." (i.e. manufacturing, finances, CS, chargebacks, etc)
Would love to include a few merchant quotes!
Q: What's the hardest part about running an eCommerce business, that most people don't realize?
Officially signing off Twitter for now! 👋 Looking forward to fully disconnecting from work and focusing on my new life transition—motherhood!
I'll be back.
Today is my 1 year anniversary at
@enzuzoprivacy
! Still the only Marketer on the team.
Last year we accomplished:
1. A rebrand + new website
2. PLG onboarding + freemium model
3. 160 to 4,800+ customers (50% on Shopify)
4. From 152 (Jan) to 1,518 (Dec) organic search traffic
@soundslikecanoe
Thanks for sharing. Scams in eCommerce need to be more widely spoken about. I was scammed by an Alibaba-based manufacturer in 2015. To this day, I've never spoken about it because I was so embarrassed & ashamed. Considering making a video sharing the story to help others.
Does anyone else get 'summer panic'? This must be a Canadian thing. Triggers include:
- Brands releasing F/W collections in August
- The feeling summer is over already (it's not)
- I haven't done everything I wanted to do yet
I finally found a reasonably priced, simple,
@Shopify
app for influencer/affiliate marketing.
I've used
@dovetale
for about 20 minutes and I'm already sold. 👏
After 2 years (and a pandemic pause) we've finally ordered new samples for our swimwear line, and I'm so excited to launch another collection next year! 🚀
(hence why I've been quite on here — heads down)
Don't be afraid to delete contacts from your email list.
I just removed around 400 unengaged contacts from
@klaviyo
. I'd rather have active contacts, than vanity subscribers.
Keepin' it clean.
Today is my last day at ! It's been a wild 7 months, but I'm super excited to announce I'll be going back to freelance marketing life. Already have few super exciting projects lined up. 👀
My thoughts and theories on Shopify's pricing changes:
1. Should have done this in 2019/2020
2. The new prices aren't absurd
3. They're trying to weed out low-quality customers (drop shippers/hobbyists)
4. Feels jarring only due to timing (everything is more $$)
A month ago I hired an Accountability Coach and my first project was to launch a podcast. Well, it goes live tomorrow! 🙌
I've never had issues taking initial action, but I run into fear-based roadblocks and my coach has helped me push through these moments.
Recording the first episode of my podcast today! A few months of planning and now on to execution. 🔥
As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, this is the "scariest" part. 😂

I’ve always worked at small startups so I use
@todoist
to manage myself. At Enzuzo we use Trello because it integrates well with Jira. Trello isn’t new or sexy but I love the UX.
In past I’ve used Asana as well and liked it.
With product-based businesses becoming more difficult to start with raising costs, Shopify should focus on marketing more towards those selling digital files, courses and services like Squarespace is. There's a huge opportunity.
I always prefer using Shopify apps that use the Polaris design system (i.e. Smile, Junip, Automizely).
Most merchants don't know the difference, but from personal experience, "Polaris" apps are always more user-friendly.
@ShopifyDevs
I’ve noticed the last few years brands in Sephora are doing their own spring sale on their DTC website 1-2 weeks in advance of Sephora’s annual April sale.
Interesting tactic.
My friend got served an Ad the other day and they used my organic tweet as social proof.
I love it!
Fun fact
@WillfulWills
was one of my first amazing freelance clients back in 2019. I wrote articles for their Learn Centre. 💯
With the sheer volume of Shopify apps in the app store these days, it is completely unusable and unhelpful as a merchant. I do not have a week to vet 30 different apps to know if they're a fit.
Pretty proud of this dashboard. Started SEO strategy in April, and it's working y'all!
I'm not SEO marketer by trade, but I ramped up quickly and have learned a ton.
Working with a content agency & SEO agency starting this month to scale this to the next level for 2022.
I had my baby and almost died in the process.
Had an emergency c-section, and contracted a bacterial infection that turned into sepsis.
14 painful days in the hospital.
Grateful to be home healing with my healthy son and husband. ❤️

As a person prone to burnout this is my fav answer. Typically high performers get burnt out because their expectations of themselves are too high, trying to do too much, and not enough prioritization is happening.
I would also through a week off in.
I feel like Shopify is still missing the mark on store templates for soloprenuers.
Option 1: Free — Limited customizations unless you code or hire a dev or must supplement with $$ apps
Option 2: $250 USD+ template — Includes (almost) everything needed out of the box
Big gap!
Hey
@canadapostcorp
, I have an idea.
Self-serve label printing/packaging kiosks at select locations (aka
@ShopprsDrugMart
). So, like self-checkout, they can prep packages, pay & drop off.
Eliminate long lines & the clerks = less stressed and can focus on other tasks.
Tools like Later, ChatGPT, Canva, Notion, Figma, CopyAi are all semi-affordable for small teams and soloprenuers.
Then we have SEMrush, Ahrefs, Clearscope charging $99+ per month.
Where are all the affordable content and SEO tools?
