Some updates: section chairs emailed the author twice but got no reply and they were not able to remove it from the system. It’s likely you will see that title in the printed programs too!

Is this title for real? I understand the word can also mean "a narrow crack", but in a China panel of all places, seriously? @APSAtweets

Fascinating finding, esp in juxtaposition with the question we asked: how do Chinese people view these same countries? Check out our findings in @Diplomat_APAC : The attached graph is a sneak peak.

Thanks to @haifeng_huang for contributing to the CDL blog! A recent Pew study showed that in many countries, public opinion about China is unfavorable. But how does the Chinese public think China is viewed? @haifeng_huang examines this question with survey data from China.

Two main takeaways: (1) public perceptions of China are much more nuanced than can be quickly gleaned from the simple dichotomy of “favorable vs unfavorable”. (2) misperceptions of China are widespread but they may be remedied by corrective information.

My latest paper at @cjip_journal is online now (). We theorize how how public opinion may influence foreign policy in China and report findings from a two-wave survey conducted before and after the 2020 US presidential election.
