Dooring happens even when cyclists are following the law. All road users must obey the law, but motorists in 4,000 pound vehicles are far more likely to harm a cyclist than the other way around. It’s not even close. Let’s all do our part.

Can’t tell you how proud I am of all the incredible @NYC_DOT employees who made the Brooklyn Bridge restoration (and daily maintenance) happen. I’ve always been in awe of its breathtaking beauty and the new lights unveiled tonight will make it shine bright for decades to come!

A bike rider was killed this morning on Broadway — a roadway whose danger is well known to DOT. The agency named it a Vision Zero Priority Corridor in 2015 — then did all of nothing to change that.
