Luke Skywalker's whiteness didn't stop me from loving him and wanting to wield the force and I hope Black Panther's blackness doesn't moderate the love non-black kids have for him. We share stories and culture. That's the whole point.
Pro Tip: If you're a published pro, get a hard copy of your work and review the bound version. What works online, what works in single pages, what works in a jpeg, isn't always what works in a BOOK. We make comic BOOKS not comic pages.
Notre Dame is burned but not broken. I can't speak for others, but from an artist's perspective, it's terrifying. Glad to hear they saved the structure. We rebuild.
if you picked up the

today, you know that we debuted his DIY, on-the-fly Spidey costume. Here are some developmental sketches we went through to find the look!
ART TIP: Ben Simmons can't teach us a lot about shooting, but he can teach us a lot about anatomy. When I came up, there was a large focus on studying body builders and anatomy books. Artists who did this ran into a common problem...(thread)
Some folks might not understand why this is the case. I'm a pro at comics and storytelling, so I'll sketch some differences for creatives who might be transitioning from one to the other. Thread.
Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards. Comics are not storyboards.
LOL. How does "give artists credit" get twisted into an artist vs. writer debate? Credit the person who turned blank paper into sequential visual storytelling. Where's the debate?

Art/Practice tip: Precision comes faster when you practice slowly. The brain downloads info quickly and corrects micro-mistakes when you go very slow. Mix up slow and fast practice. This applies to many skills.
Testing the new scanner with more Sci-Fi sketching. It's been awhile since I've worked pencil-on-paper but this was fun. Much easier than I remember. I'll definitely be doing more natural media in the near future.
This is beyond awesome. 66 year old Grandpa going ham in

Ppl talk about diversity in gaming, but rarely address ageism, which goes both ways. We're in new territory, but early reports show that gaming is GREAT for seniors
I have two jobs right now. One I can't tell you about, and other other is THIS! I'm ecstatic to be the new artist for the Marvel Make Me a Hero series on YouTube:
This is completely irrelevant because
#Simnation
PRE-DATES the 2k comp scene. It was never focused on dominating 2k competitively, it was focused on finding ways to SIMULATE basketball principles in a virtual world as much as tech would allow at the given time.
@Da_Czar
When people like BlaqKobra and a few others put out videos of their sim play styles and it was blowing up because it was like a breath of fresh air. The comp side wanted to remind them that it’s never gonna work in a comp setting which I do agree. The meta style will always beat
Really bizarre flashing sky in Queens just now. This wasn't a normal night sky. Rest of the sky was dark and normal. One area was bright blue. Much brighter than this pic appears. Everyone was looking up, confused. What was it?
@CPTheFanchise
Hopefully this Heat run puts the Knicks into context and we can cancel the panic parade. People want to blow up our best year since the last time we made the Finals because we lost to likely the best team in the EC.
Some more

development sketches. We were all on the same page from beginning, it was just a matter of getting the patterns right. Seems like most of you liked where we landed!
Hey ya'll, my ETERNALS cover has been revealed! I'm actually loving this series so far, so it was cool to get to do this. It's also a soft homage to an old X-men cover by one of my mentors,
@Marc_Silvestri
Definitely looking forward to the new
@PlayOverwatch
character, Baptiste. I hope he's OP but I'll play him even if he's trash. Had to draw him real quick.
Hey, pro and aspiring comics artists, if you're not into gaming, check out Sable. That art team put on a design and color theory CLINIC. There are some games I view as reference and
@ShedworksGreg
and team made one of them.
Miles' Uncle Aaron is a 2-bit hustler who thinks he's one step away from being at the top of Wilson Fisk's Contacts. We don't explicitly mention that he's a criminal in this issue, so it was important to make him shifty, but with a pride in his look.
I am shocked at how much I love this Streets of Rage 4. Just a breath of fresh old school goodness that reminds me why those games were so addictive back in the day. Here's a quick Axel sketch. S/O

and crew.
PROTIP for NON-PROS: Draw for self discovery, self expression or fun without worrying about comparing yourself to pros. We should treat drawing like dancing. It's healthy and everyone is welcome. We all could benefit from a personal sketchbook.
One of the things causing a struggle with inkers is how their role has changed. Inkers used to be partners, but in the 80s/90s comics gained this obsession with a "super tight line." So pencilers were essentially inking themselves with inkers meticulously tracing that.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but you shouldn't get a quick stop from running at a full sprint.
#2K25
They added content and made it viable to not always run at full speed. Take advantage of it. Learn 2k25, stop playing 2k24. Then cry it's the "same game" every year.
Art Tip: Don't confuse self criticism with beating yourself up. Draw with sincerity, not expectations. You'll always want to improve, so you'll never be content. Figure out what you need to change to fall in love with your art.
There's a point when learning a new skill where you pass a threshold that seemed impossible when you started.
I love that part.
Doesn't even mean you're good at it yet, but now "good" becomes plausible, reachable.
I think all artists should move towards independence. Inkers should learn to draw. Pencilers should learn to color. If you can do all three, learn to write. Be a creator because the industry doesn’t respect craftsman
No one who tells you to quit knows what they're talking about. I was told to quit by a pro comic artist when I was 16, 3 years before I started my art career. In my first job, I was told I could never color. In my 3rd job, "stop drawing cartoony."
DPS chief Steven McGraw: “We haven’t gotten into the why [motive]. We know the individual was also into cyber gaming in that regard, and group gaming.”
I wasn't on social media much yesterday, so I want to thank everyone for the OVERWHELMING and positive responses to the announcement that
@bryanedwardhill
@chrisrobinson
and myself will be doing a SPIDER-MAN Annual.
@rpace
@chrisarrant
I start with a form that combines the BROW RIDGE and EYE SOCKETS. It allows me to focus on structure, perspective and facial expression at the same time. Works for all styles.
Cannot thank you all enough for the support. I know 2k isn't a big number in the grand scheme but it's more than what I expected when starting the channel a few months ago. Onward and upward!
I see a lot of conversation about breaking into the comics industry. As usual, people have tons of great advice, but don't forget the simple tactic of making a really good comic book. It's rare almost to the point of never to just be given a great book from an unknown. Do that
