It is good to share any positive news right now. So, I am chuffed to announce I am back working with the wonderful story team at Coronation Street and feeling totally at home already. Been six years since I was last there but you clearly can't keep me off those famous cobbles LOL
Can we all show a bit of twitter love for this show again tonight. No BAFTAs for
#ItsASin
but it is still the most characterful, powerful and moving piece of drama I have ever seen 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Delighted to announce I am joining the brilliant team at Lime Pictures as ‘Story and Script Executive’ for Hollyoaks. I live and breathe story and script so doing both at the same time on this fabulous show is literally my dream job. Exciting new adventures ahead... can’t wait!
That was the most entertaining and engaging three part drama I have seen in a long time. Well done to everyone involved in making it. Bring on the awards for writing, performance, direction (and the quirky musical segment) because you totally deserve them all. Loved it!
#Quiz
🙌🏽
So sad to see the news that Honor Blackman has passed away. I absolutely adored her in The Avengers and Goldfinger. And of course not forgetting her role in the classic sitcom The Upper Hand. RIP you talented and beautiful lady! 😓
Excited to announce that next month I start a new role as Story Producer for
@BBCDoctors
I think most people already know how much I adore this show and all the talented people I work with every day. Can’t wait to begin the next chapter of my amazing journey. Feeling blessed 🙏🏾
What an absolute honour to be selected as a 2023
@Broadcastnow
Hot Shot - at the ripe old age of 52. Don’t ever let this industry make you feel you’re too old to make a difference. Well done all and huge thanks to
@LucyA1978
for the nomination 🙏🏾
To the teenage lad who just jumped out of his mate’s car when he saw my elderly mum struggling with some bulky items and respectfully came to her aid addressing her as ‘aunty’ - you’re a credit to your parents. Thank You 🙏🏾
I am literally stunned by some of the cruel comments I’ve seen on here today. Seems a lot of folks have no compassion, kindness or empathy in them at all. I am grateful I don’t know these people personally. I prefer to align myself with humans who value and respect other humans🙏🏾
Sending love and support to all affected by today’s news about BBC Doctors. The show I cut my telly teeth on and where I learned everything I know about editorial/production. The show that was a rich training and development ground for so many. Genuinely sad to see this news 💔
After 6 months of creating exciting stories, reading fab scripts and future planning I’m so proud to see my 1st credit on Hollyoaks tonight. Huge thanks to an amazing cast & crew, writers, editorial & digital teams and everyone else for making me feel at home. It has been epic X
If you are a writer or actor trying to make it in telly, never give up. Someone once told me the closest I would get to a career in broadcasting would be calling all the minicabs back to base. My answer to that was to dream bigger, work harder and never lose faith. Keep going 🙏🏾
TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Continuing Drama Writer (Internship). Assigned full-time in the Script and Story departments, you'll shadow teams, immersing yourself in the editorial process and gaining invaluable knowledge of Continuing Dramas.
Last month I made a big scary decision to leave a company I was with for nearly 20 yrs. My first thought was ‘Fuck, will you ever work again?’ My second thought was ‘Course you will. You’re creative, damn good at what you do, you always champion others and you make fab samosas’😜
How much love am I feeling for team
@BBCDoctors
right now. Joint winners of Scene of the Year for our Bollywood marriage proposal. First time I produce something and we bloody go and win! Bursting with pride right now 👏
#SoapAwards
@NavinKundra
How does a pigeon in a box being handed over from one character to another make you sob? Simple answer. Excellent casting, direction, emotive dialogue and the subtle build of storytelling to that moment. That’s how! 👏😢

My career in the last 10 years
@BBCDoctors
Script Editor/Story Editor/Producer/Story Producer
@itvcorrie
Storyliner
@bbceastenders
Story Producer. My motto? Work hard, love what you do, keep learning new things, be kind and stay humble 🙌
So I have decided to use my vast script/storylining experience and come up with a few of my own original drama ideas. They might not get any interest but I am having a go. Because I have nothing to lose and those hours and hours of TV credits are screaming at me to at least try🙏🏾
ENTRY LEVEL JOB ALERT for Freelance Drama Runners. Following a successful period of time in role you may also be offered a contract to train and work as a 3rd Assistant Director. Closes 06 August.
Today is our last filming day of the year at
@BBCDoctors
Thank you to every single person who contributed to this show in 2019. Your collective hard work, talent and energy is why we are nearly 20 years old and still going strong. Very proud to be here. You're all fabulous! 🥂
Last August I started a new role as Story Producer for
@BBCDoctors
. The first episode I storylined airs this Thursday. It was filmed ages ago and contains lots of stuff we used to take for granted. Who could have known life would be like this 7 months later? Mon-Fri 13:45 BBC1
My latest TV credit. Thanks for having me
#EastEnders
It was a blast working with some really talented and lovely people for a few months - can’t wait to see all of it play out on screen X
It was one of those weekends where I despaired about the world and some of the people in it. And then this brilliantly executed episode made me remember there will always be faith, hope and humanity if we look for it. Beautifully sensitive and emotive as always 👏
#callthemidwife
Officially start new role tomorrow so a good time to say thanks. To all the companies/people who met or worked with me this past year, the fab peeps at Corrie who let me ‘cobble together’ more stories and all my industry buddies and pals for their endless support/encouragement 🙏🏾
What lovely positive news to wake up to. Lorna is bloody fantastic and I had the pleasure of working with her on
@BBCDoctors
for years. She is going to be fantastic in Corrie 👍

Early last year we made plans to party in Vegas for my 50th and then everything turned on its head. Today, I am at home in Brum, having a quiet one with mum and celebrating all the good people and things in my life. That’s the real win! And I wouldn’t have it any other way 🙏🏾💙
Tonight a man is in intensive care. Tonight he isn’t prime minister, a tory, a mistake or whatever else he is usually labelled as. Tonight he is just another human being who is suffering in the same way as many others and I truly pray he doesn’t become another grim statistic🙏🏾
Last day at Lime 😢 Very grateful and humbled to have crossed paths and worked with so many talented and creative folk over the last 2 years. Some of you are now on my personal and professional radar for life (even if you don’t want it lol). Exciting, new adventures begin soon 💙
Can we give a big Tuesday retweet to the amazing
@BBCDoctors
cast, guests and crew who film outdoors all year round and in all sorts of weather conditions to entertain our viewers. It is bloody freezing today and you're all fabulous! X
9 mths and 6 fab eps later, today was my last shoot day as Producer on
@WaterlooRoad
. What a journey! Some of the best people I’ve worked with. I will miss you more than you know and I luv my gorgeous blooms. Can’t wait to watch the magic we created together. THANK YOU ALL ♥️♥️♥️
This is what I woke up to this morning. My car completely trashed outside the house overnight. Lights and bonnet hood stolen. Window smashed in. I know this is a long shot but if anyone in Brum can shed any light on who might be responsible, please come forward. Bloody scumbags!
Just taking a minute to shout about how glorious
#Maternal
was. Warm and funny, with complex characters you genuinely liked and cared about. Sharp, witty writing and direction. There has to be a Series 2 of this - pretty easy commissioning decision I think 🙌🏽
@ITVX
@ITV
They say a new year is a good time for a new challenge. So, I am joining the Story Team at Eastenders next month. Obviously very sad to leave
@BBCDoctors
- such wonderful, lovely, talented teams (and fans) but looking forward to creating exciting new drama in Albert Square...
JOB ALERT: Opportunity to join busy, hard-working, team of RUNNERS at CORONATION STREET. To support ADs with smooth running of shoot and be first point of information between shoot, AD’s & Production Office. Closes 03 Dec
Absolutely bowled over to be selected as one of the mentees for
@WFTV_UK
2023 and to get such an awesome mentor to learn from. Looking forward to getting to know all these lovely, talented people in my cohort too🙏🏾
@PhilipRalph9
@BBCDoctors
Big love to you Phil. I’ve been a fan of your words since my script editing days and all the wonderful Doctors episodes we worked on together. But never have your words been more emotional, heartfelt, powerful and important as today xx 💔
Can I say as someone who works in drama,
@CallTheMidwife1
really is on point every week. Each storyline hits home and is truthful, poignant & moving. And it all starts with a well crafted script. Exceptional performances tonight especially from
@StephenMcGann
and
@LauraMain1
🙌🏽
Someone asked why I always tweet about jobs/opportunities on other shows/channels. Simple answer! I’ve been in this industry for 20 years and try to champion it the best I can, I know a lot of talented people who need to work and it takes all of 3 secs to share an opportunity 🙏🏾
JOB ALERT: Brilliant Script Editing opportunity at BBC Studios Comedy to work across exciting development pipeline. Working directly with Head of Development and Head of Comedy. Closes 20 Oct
Few BBC Studios jobs worth posting about again. My first TV job was as a researcher - covering someone else’s role for 2 weeks. It kickstarted everything for me…
* Trainee Researcher & Script Editor, Story Scheduler - Eastenders
* Team Assistant Drama
I’m still pretty new to the
#WaterlooRoad
family but I can honestly say these are some of the hardest working and most resilient teams I have ever created telly with. In awe of their talent every single day 🙌🏽
Sometimes knocking on the same door over and over again does nothing. The door that is meant to open for you will do so whether you are knocking on it or not. You will end up in the room you are meant to be in. And when it happens, take your seat at the table and do your thing 🙏🏾
When I left Corrie the first time, my lovely Story Editor asked if I wanted anything specific. I said signed cast card from William Roache and coaster from the Rovers. I’ve looked after these items since 2014 with no idea that I would return someday. Ken Barlow is a legend! 🙌🏽
Welcome to my lovely new office folks. No excuse at all for not having face to face meetings. What I need now is a huge jar of retro sweets, posters of top drama series from the last few decades and some biscuits 😉
Thank you to everyone who sent me encouraging messages about my new role at
@BBCDoctors
This is what puts fire in my belly and inspires me to do bigger and better. And also a big thank you to those who are already secretly doubting me. Looking forward to proving you wrong 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
BBC Studios Talentworks presents the ‘Casualty’ Directors’ Course 2024 to give 8 directors an opportunity to attend 2x paid bootcamp weekends. Up to 4 successful candidates will then shadow prep and shoot an episode with support of a mentor director
Dozens of emails and actual job applications later, I finally have what we industry folk call ‘a general meeting’ in the diary. Going by these stats, I should be working again by 2026 (with a bit of luck) 😉
JOB ALERT: Script Editor for Casualty. To work as part of team overseeing episodes from idea, delivery and through to shoot. You will advise on script related matters and be responsible for managing relationships between writers and production staff
Channel 4 Production Training scheme now open for applications including a couple of fantastic roles on Hollyoaks (Assistant Script Editor and Development Assistant, Scripted)
So I now have a pretty solid draft of the first six episodes I have put together in my new role of Story Producer for
@BBCDoctors
. I have worked really hard and am proud of them. But I’m sure I’ll find out what people think soon enough 😜
Are some people seriously giving me side eye for wearing a mask today? This isn’t a rebellion against your freedom. You can do whatever you like and that is cool with me. Each to their own! True freedom is being allowed to choose 🙏🏾
Got a rejection today and realised they don’t hurt nearly as much as they used to. I just move on with grace, optimism and self belief. All roads lead to another at some point 🙏🏾
Big shout out to all the lovely folk at Hollyoaks for being so welcoming and lovely on my first couple of days actually working in an office again. You really are as nice as they said you would be. Liverpool rocks 💙
Tomorrow is bitter sweet. My last Script Editor credit on
@BBCDoctors
I have edited 100s of episodes in 7 years. Thanks to the fab writers I had the honour of working with. And also the fans who supported my work. Story Producer credits start in April🙏🏾
It is
@BBCDoctors
Story Meeting Day. And the best way to get the team in the mood for coming up with exciting future ideas? To dish out personalised cupcakes of course. I’ve got this! 😜
TRAINING OPPORTUNITY!
The BBC are offering ‘Where It Begins’ paid training on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra and BBC Asian Network. I started my own career in radio and the skills acquired were invaluable…
Almost 3 months in new role and can’t help remembering how I almost left telly just before applying for it. Now I’m here doing my best work in the best company with the nicest people. Just goes to show. One more try before giving up can be the turning point you desperately need.
Thank you
#DoctorWho
for featuring the iconic
#NoorInayatkhan
in tonight’s episode. I have been reading about Noor’s life and talking to others about her for ages and have been astounded by how many people have never heard of her 👏
Loved seeing this gem again! The creation of
#Corrie
and long before I started working in telly. But I was lucky enough to storyline some of it in 2015. Here’s to Tony Warren and all involved over the last 60 years! Long may it continue
@itvcorrie
🙌🏽🥂
#TheRoadToCoronationStreet
WRITER OPPORTUNITY: Following the success of the cosy crime course on Sister Boniface Mysteries, earlier this year, BBC Studios are launching a new residential training course for Father Brown. Full details here…
Anyone watching
#LondonKills
on BBC1? I didn't see the first series but I quite like it. And any writer who has worked with me will tell you how much I love a meaty police story. In fact while I am at home, I might work up a treatment for a new show called err... 'CSI Birmingham'
The first eighteen episodes of
@BBCDoctors
storylines I have written are officially in the bag. I promise you tears, laughter and quite a few unexpected character surprises but you’ll have to wait until March to see my work as Story Producer here. I think it will be worth it 🙏🏾😜
I’ve been called or exposed to certain words and phrases a few times in my life although thankfully not for a while now. My point is very simple: It wasn’t banter then. It isn’t banter now. It will never be banter. And we don’t need to have a debate about this - ever! 🙏🏾🙏🏻🙏🏿🙏
What can I say
@owenbrenman
other than thanks so much for all the wonderful Heston
@BBCDoctors
stories & moments over the years. I will always feel blessed that I got to work with you and will continue to feel your absence in my scripts for a very long time to come. THANK YOU X
I know I am biased because I was there when this was storylined but I don’t care.
#Corrie
is currently on top form - writing, direction, performances, production. All bloody incredible. So proud of everyone right now 🙌🏽
I've never been one to shy away from a bit of self-promotion LOL so just reminding our lovely
@BBCDoctors
fans that I script edited the episodes going out this Thursday and Friday (and another four next week). And it all starts with this one...
Quality writing, brilliant characters and tons of laugh out loud moments. Waited a long time for something like this on my telly. Love it!
#WeAreLadyParts
Give us a like or retweet if you missed this lovely
@BBCDoctors
bunch rocking up on your TV screens over the break. But don’t worry - they’re all back from Monday. Phew!
13:45 BBC1
You will rarely ever see me in traditional gear but this is what happens when Naz gets obsessed with Pakistani drama serials. EID MUBARAK FOLKS. Have a beautiful and blessed day 💙💙
2020 is a huge year for soap and drama! Feb - 35th anniversary
@bbceastenders
Mar - 35th anniversary
@neighbours
and 20th anniversary
@BBCDoctors
Oct - 25th anniversary
@Hollyoaks
and then in Dec - 60 years of
@itvcorrie
. Here’s a little blast to Doctors of the past...
Hearing about lots of new and returning TV shows being commissioned despite the shitshow raining down on us right now. Hope this also creates more opportunities for the writers, actors producers, directors and crew who desperately need work as well as the usual ‘go to’ people 🙏🏾
My day started with a message that upset me. It almost knocked my confidence sideways and made me want to give up. But that didn’t happen - because I’ve gone through too much to let a few badly chosen words destroy my belief in myself. Instead, I am more determined than ever 💪🏾
Not long now
@BBCDoctors
peeps. I’ve worked on another 18 scripts since we have been off air and I officially started my new role as Story Producer today too. Lots of amazing stuff coming up for you guys x
JOB ALERT: Script Secretary on Eastenders. This is a junior/training role where the postholder will report to the Series Script Supervisor. Closes 07 November
The next set of
@BBCDoctors
episodes I script edited start today. We gather to say goodbye to Heston but a heartbroken Mrs Tembe is struggling to enter the church. Tears are pretty much guaranteed. Written by Claire Bennett 13:45 BBC1
Loving the Aldi christmas ad. Whoever came up with Marcus Radishford and the tagline ‘for you to be happy, you need to be kind’ in the creative meeting - give them a fat bonus right now 🙌🏽
From tomorrow. The first of my last six script editing credits on
@BBCDoctors
This time next year I could be working on the cheese counter at a well known supermarket and the only place you’ll see my name is on my badge. So please watch 13:45 BBC1😜
@IAmChrisRamsey
has been brilliant to watch this series. He might not be the most technical dancer but he had personality in abundance, worked bloody hard every week and gave us a lovely smile no matter what the scores were. Well done Chris 👏
#Strictlyresults
So today I got my first ever 'Story Producer' credit for our
@BBCDoctors
Mental Health Awareness Week. Feel so proud and thanks to everyone who helped make this happen. If I got turfed out of TV tomorrow I would leave on a high knowing this was one of the last things I worked on.
I know Hollyoaks will most likely be the last soap I work on having done a few of them now but do you know what? This is the one I definitely want to go out on after tonight 🙌🏽
Every negative and unkind person on here is vastly outnumbered by a host of pretty decent, hardworking and generally nice humans who encourage, lift and support others. I absolutely stand with the majority...
#SaturdayThoughts
Just experienced two of the toughest weeks I have ever known. The lesson is very simple. Nothing is more important than your health and wellbeing. Sometimes there are no answers to difficult and painful questions. Jobs and people come and go. Family and support is everything 💙
I was woken up at 3am because there was a car on fire in my street. My life is as dramatic as my
@BBCDoctors
stories. But if you prefer me to tell you about the drama on the show, my last 6 eps as 'Script Editor' air from 13 Feb and they are very good X
The first ep of
@BBCDoctors
I penned as 'Story Producer' goes out tomorrow. Set in a parallel universe where characters roam freely at night, visit each other for wine and nibbles and stand fairly close together. Obviously shot a long time ago! 13:45 BBC1
Life sucks sometimes. You win some and you lose some - jobs, relationships, places, possessions. But every one of us still has delicious untapped potential. Be an amazing good human and attract another amazing good human into discovering it. Never stop believing in yourself🙏🏾
In an industry short on work, it is always cool to message someone to say ‘just saw this job advert and think you would be perfect for it’. And then finding out later that they actually got it. So bloody nice when that happens 🙏🏾
Promised to wear big girl pants and not get emotional on my last day. EPIC FAIL. So many heartfelt msgs from some of the kindest friendliest folks in tv. Thanks for a fab year lovely Hollyoaks family. Stay Bold & Brilliant. Shine Bright. See you soon as I won’t be too far away😉X
As I begin a brand new chapter of my work life, I want to take a minute to thank everyone who has supported my journey so far. Every kind word and message over the years telling me you believe in my ability, talent and desire to make a difference has convinced me I can do this 🙏🏾
JOB ALERT: All3Media looking for DRAMA SCRIPT EDITORS, ideally with experience in development and production. Email CV to: cvs
@all3media
.com with ‘Script Editor Sept 2023’ in the subject heading.
It is my lovely mum's birthday today. She's special and deserves two cakes - so she actually got two cakes LOL. Big shout out to my talented niece who is only 13 and made the cream one all by herself from scratch. Future Bake Off star!
All this horrible news about shows I’ve worked on, just can’t bear the thought of even more brilliant, hardworking people losing their jobs. Sending love and support to those who need it 💙
Apparently some people find me too emotional on twitter and think I post way too often. My response is simple.
1. Most of what I say is positive and supportive to others
2. I am allowed an off day
3. Loads of people like me as I am
4. Why are you following me?
5. Read 1 again
