This is basically correct: you don't "fix" congestion. You can only reduce the percentage of people stuck in cars by having them switch modes.

The only way to fix traffic congestion is getting more people out of cars

OPINION: While long-term projects are built, we need solutions we can implement without multi-year consultation processes and construction. So what are the options?

That was glib. But it seems like there is significant fault on all sides. The bill was poorly designed. The so-called "link tax" is a red herring, when the obvious issue is the ad market. Media floundered and continues to. Tech refuses to take any responsibility. It's a mess.

As someone who has done repeat cross-country moves, I loved this story. Like in other areas, quality and bespoke stuff is out of reach for the regular consumer — even when you factor in the need to buy repeatedly. There seems to be no reasonable mid-tier.

For years I’ve said that the housing crisis exists in part bc ameliorating things would involve challenging or harming the class interests of property owners. Given that RE is now the largest sector by % of GDP, starting to suspect it’s in fact “capital” writ large vs homeowners
