Given this AB government’s background, it will be hard for many to view the energy regulator’s orders as being focused solely on public health, & not a means of giving another cost break, however small, to the province’s main industry. #ableg #cdnpoli #oil

Rick Steves on the Return of Travel, & low carbon taxes: "I don’t want to be flight-shamed out of my travels, because..travel is a powerful force for peace & stability on this planet. So my co has a self-imposed carbon tax of $30/person we take to Europe."

Congratulations to Danielle Smith on winning a majority of the vote in the UCP leadership, and to all of those who participated in the process for their commitment to the democratic process. There will be an orderly transition.

Liberal George Chahal told me this month his dad ran (unsuccessfully) for the provincial Liberals in the days when Nick Taylor led the party. Today, it looks like he has unseated Conservative incumbent Jag Sahota, & becomes the only non-Conservative MP in #yyc . #cdnelxn44 #ableg

Calgary housing affordability is eroding - another example in data on detached homes in today’s CREB report: “Of all the inventory in June, only 24% was priced below $600,000, a significant drop from last year, where that market segment represented 45% of the supply.” #yyc

It’s been a Long, Long Time that I’ve been wanting to write about film and television in the province. But Alberta could use some fun. And it turns out that an HBO show about a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a mass fungal infection is just the ticket.

Kenney's UCP finally found a poll that looked good, except it was private. They pleaded @planetjanetyyc to release it, then numbers got leaked to a conservative columnist. Helluva @DonBraid column.
