Was an honor to see my father sworn into the office of Finance Minister on Friday. As a son I’m proud of his accomplishment. However, as a citizen, I expect him to perform solely for the common good of the republic. Period. Godspeed to him & the government he serves in.

You can see the world in the context of the West’s 300-400yrs of dominance, or you can see it within the context of ALL of human history. In that latter view...the future is very malleable. Africa, India, China & the Middle East are where exciting things happen.

African monarchs gave A LOT away for soft life and trinkets. They lived well, their people didn't. They got distracted and paid dearly in sovereignty. Seems like those same mistakes are being made again across the continent by leaders, and the economic and cultural elites.

The impunity of people who can turn off social media for 18 million people; of which 7 million would be voting…. Who then finds that they are losing massively, and claims the election in which they gave themselves every advantage—is unfair to them!

The notion that future is a commons, and one that is best cared for in the present is both fantastically thrilling but also nerve wracking. Stewardship of the future is one of those things that’s non-deferrable. You carry the yoke, now, today. You build it now, today.
