PACES23 is coming: The new name for PACES 2020
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic across all of our PACES centres in the UK and internationally, the introduction of the new PACES examination had to be delayed.
New dates for cancelled SCEs and European Specialty Examinations now confirmed.
We've been working closely with our third party partners to ensure the exams will be delivered in accordance with the relevant guidance on physical distancing.

We are focussed on restarting all assessments in September and are working to explore all possible exam delivery methods to ensure candidates have the opportunity to sit validated and reliable assessments so they can continue to progress in their training.
We were extremely sad to learn of the passing of Professor Rashad Barsoum earlier this month. Prof Barsoum was pivotal in establishing the first PACES centre in Cairo 20 years ago and chaired the organising committee from 2001-09. Our condolences to his family and colleagues.

We were very sad to learn of the passing of Professor Joseph Muscat Baron. Prof Muscat Baron served the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) as a consultant physician and cardiologist for 37 years and was responsible for establishing PACES centres in Dubai and Sharjah.

Update: We are sorry to advise that the MRCP(UK) Part 1 exam in Pakistan scheduled to take place on 11 May 2021 has been cancelled.
This cancellation is due to the recent Pakistan government decision to cancel all exam activity until June.

This year during UK PACES stations 1, 3 and 5 will run as a mini carousel retaining the existing format, real patients and assessing the same skills. Time will be added between the clinical encounters for donning and doffing of PPE.
