Played a Modern RCQ today. I was disappointed by how some of the players interacted with each other, the staff and the tournament overall. It costs nothing to be a decent person, and not insufferable + inconsiderate of others. Have rarely had that issue with Legacy players. Jfc.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Death's Shadow. The gameplay is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical lifetotals most of the lines will go over a typical player's head. . . (ty @pissduggery )

“Stop tracking your match up results” is probably the best way of staying sane in Magic. Stop basing your successes and failures off of leagues. The leagues are there for: 1. Fun 2. Working on fundamentals/gameplay 3. Vibe checking your list 4. Fun

@revenantkioku Once you do this a bit, the hope is that when you play a “regular” league, you’ll feel relieved that you finally get to win sometimes instead of anxious that you might lose. Also, if you’re tracking your match results anywhere, stop doing that (permanently).

It warms me to see Shadow in the upper tier of decks. It wasn't long ago that people were dumping on the deck and trying to convince me that Snuff Out was unplayable. If Initiative and Delver are Tier 0, Shadow is Tier 1 and I'll do my best to keep it that way.
