It's here! mmhmm 3.0 is the best way to present and record yourself on video.
Our latest release is all about giving you the tools you need to stand out and be more persuasive on camera.
Thank you for the launch day love yesterday. We can't wait to welcome you all to the mmhmm community.
If you signed up to be a beta tester: stay tuned! We're still in very early beta and will send out invites to testers soon.
We’re all on video calls a lot these days, and the experience… could be better. So we built a thing. It’s called mmhmm and it’s a new and better way to communicate visually.
We've sent out the first 1,000 invites! From today, we'll send invitations every day, and we plan to get everyone who wants access up and running by the end of the month. The response so far has been incredible. Thanks so much—we couldn't do this without all of you.
So cool to be part of Apple's event today.
Our appearance showcased a special feature we built for Apple’s new M1-powered Macs called Big Hand mode—our first hint at the possibilities for gestural control in mmhmm.
We’ve sent out another batch of invites and we’ll keep ‘em coming! In the meantime, a little peek into what some of our testers have been making while they kick the tires.
This is it! Today mmhmm for Mac is launching into the world. Now you’ll no longer need an invite to create magical video presentations.
Visit to take it for a spin.

Today's Beta 3
#mmhmmapp
release addresses the top 4 requests from Mac-users (YES, Windows is coming soon!):
1. better virtual green screen
2. higher-resolution screensharing
3. simpler navigation
4. Sound and playback controls for videos
Try it and let us know what you think!
One of the features we’re most excited about: Interactive Recordings, which can be watched like a movie, read like slides, or any combination of both. Bye, boring decks! Here's an example from
@plibin
(bonus: learn the origin of our awesome name)
Today we launch Beta 2, our first major update! It's loaded with a bunch of new features like Copilot, which reimagines collaborative presentations and lets you present with others remotely. Also, to make Copilot more fun, beta testers can now invite others to mmhmm.
"Rather than thinking 'How do we make the video experience almost as good as we used to have in person?', I think the better way of thinking about it is 'How do we make it ridiculously better?'" -

Mmhmm is launching today in private beta—we’re still testing things and adding new features. We plan to make the app available to everyone this fall. In the meantime, if you want to grab an invite, this is the link to click:
With mmhmm, you can bring yourself and your personality into your video chats. No more boring heads-in-a-box. No more fussing to share your screen for a presentation.
Watch this to see it in action:
We’re thrilled to announce the acquisition of Macro, a Zoom client that builds connections & promotes authentic expression. The Macro team will bring their expertise to our latest app, OOO for web.
We’re thrilled to announce our first acquisition: a product called Memix.
It makes video calls and live streams better through math-a-visual wizardry: filters, special effects, the ability to improve lighting, retouch your appearance, and more.
Exactly a year ago today, we launched the first private beta of mmhmm. It's been a pretty eventful year, and we're happy to announce that we just raised a $100 million B round led by SoftBank Vision Fund to kick mmhmm up a notch. A few notches, actually.
⚡️Cool contest alert! ⚡️

The world is going through difficult times but there are lots of reasons for optimism. We made mmhmm during the pandemic to make video communication “better than before.” Now we want to hear what YOU would make
#betterthanbefore
!
Yes, we know our announcements came out on April 1st. Honestly, we’re tired of companies doing ridiculous April Fools’ Day gags. Grow up, people. We’re starting a new tradition: Every April 1st we’ll announce real and important things, seriously.
Any redditors out there using mmhmm? Today we launched r/mmhmmapp, a watering hole for feedback, tips and tricks, and sharing the cool stuff we make with mmhmm. Join us!
