Alright let's try this one, what's the worst that can happen? :) We are making IMMORTAL, an action platformer set in Buddhist hell. Here's a taste of how you can move around in it. Steam link and wishlist in reply.
Kill or no kill? How about various specific ways to do both? Performing a public execution on a gang's leader will create a power vacuum based on fear which gives you the opportunity to plant your own recruits and gain prison-cred.

Our "character action" and 2D Fighter love letter is progressing. Check out brutal executions, the crazy Unleashed mode where you can cancel any move into anything at any point but becoming vulnerable etc. UI is very placeholder!:)

Even though our characters are "platformer" size on screen we keep the 3d models pretty detailed for those cinematic closeups. Both of these guys were truly collaborative efforts by the team and went through quite a few iterations.
The Blunt Buster is only available if you drain yourself of flames completely. Terry B. was on our mind when we made this one. The cool smoke like all the other vfx in the game are drawn by Anna. Plz check her personal art @

Most combat encounters in IMMORTAL takes place on a variety of dragon-powered war chariots. You can move between them using your Vajra as a makeshift rocket. Currently working on new caravan mechanics and how these "rooms" shift and change as you play.

The Closed Combat test is over. It was a lot of fun to share the game with so many people, and incredibly uplifting to hear so much positive feedback despite a number of technical difficulties. Now we'll take all this new information and get ready for the next phase.

IMMƟRTAL Pre Alpha training mode gameplay! Stats show that about 80% of people did not get past the first 25% of the video last week. So here's the second part in all it's glory. Don't miss it this time, it has all they hype stuff and the chorus of the track!
Trying to find a good quick timing for finishers. Gotta get that "Doom eternal" timing going. This one's at 1.5 seconds but still feels a bit slow. The slower cinematic ones are staying in for the "last guy in the room" thing most likely.

Even though technically the combat of IMMORTAL is inspired by Fighting and Character-Action, it is influenced by games like Deus Ex / new Zeldas, where giving the players a ruleset for free expression is key. It's all about being the director of the action.

Choose where you do your dirty deeds, lest the prison guards notice. Excessive violence has its immediate benefits but it raises "Despair" or Duḥkha in the world raising difficulty until your karma is cleansed.
