This surveillance “will build on secretive tests conducted in Arizona and Texas during which authorities collected a “massive amount of data”, including images captured “as people were leaving work, picking up children from school, and carrying out other daily routines”

I’m not sure how one would fix a “broken” border patrol system? Even if every agent were super nice and polite, they would still be tasked with enforcing a segregationist system of exclusion that has been tearing families apart for decades.

Our border patrol system is broken. And part of the reason it stays broken is because it’s kept secret. The American people must see what is being carried out in their name. The @HispanicCaucus led a delegation of members of Congress to visit 2 border patrol facilities.

Well the book launch for Empire of Borders went well, except for the guy who showed up with the confederate flag tattoo on his arm and the knife (sheathed) in his hand who kept trying to and saying things, including quoting scripture, during the q&a/discussion period.

The only thing about this tweet that I wouldn’t agree with is that the agents are “rogue.” They aren’t rogue. They are an intrinsic part of the system.

Congress, we warned you when DHS showed up at the border. We warned you when you funded the agency's rapid growth. We warned you when they said only federal buildings. Congress, we're warning you again now. Take action before these rogue agents are everywhere.

Raw satellite estimates of Hurricane Eta now show it could be among the strongest hurricanes in Atlantic basin history, dating back to 1851. Eta is an 8.3(!) on an 8.0 scale, meeting or exceeding the theoretical maximum strength for a Caribbean hurricane this time of year.

If you are thinking about open borders I would recommend you start with corporate power that can go wherever it wants, take whatever it wants, pollute and plunder communities, while enjoying protection by militaries (often the U.S. military that also has open borders) and police.
