Talking books and publishing with Gerry Howard is basically what I would have imagined New York publishing to be. Looking forward to this.

I'll be in NYC on Monday, February 12, talking about Big Fiction at 8PM with the legend Gerry Howard (discoverer of DFW and Palahniuk, editor of Libra, Devil in a Blue Dress, A Little Life, etc etc) at the National Arts Club. Free and open to the public

So proud of the students at my high school alma mater in Lexington, Kentucky protesting the mean spirited legislation the GOP is pushing through the statehouse.

Finally watched Spotlight. A nice reminder of vital & hard work press does in a season where their livelihood has come under steady fire.

Being a tenured professor is one of the last good jobs in America. The country would be healthier if more jobs afforded the kind of stability they enjoy. I bet most workers would trade higher salaries for real security. Separately: many tenured professors are sniveling cowards.

Fascinating piece. As an agent it strikes me as perplexing bc most readers of ALL fiction categories are female http://t.co/6Zv5nelD56
