How is it ethical for away rotations to take a students money for the application/fee & 1 later say we are all filled. Why is the application still open and why did you take my money? This whole process is wild sometimes. And another reason why being low SES is a road block.

My Scans were negative! Cancer free since April 27, 2018. Cisplatin and radiation therapy I do jot wish that upon my greatest enemy but nasopharyngeal carcinoma is gone hopefully forever ❤️ one less thing to worry about but why do CT Scans cost so much

In my opinion, if we need to take practice exams for step one and have study materials…. It should be incorporated into tuition. It doesn’t make sense to me to spend an extra $600 - $700 without even including the cost of the exam itself especially coming from a low SES.

@DrCasteelEM One time my attending thanked me for driving the patient to the hospital because he was having a cardiac event. We were rounding. I had on my white coat & it says med student. This needs to stop & people need to think about what they are saying. I hate that that happened to you.

The lack of familial support in med school almost made me quit. Hearing “I am proud of you” from a parents makes all the difference but I’m blessed enough to have friends and my Twitter aunties and uncles that motivate me to stay. Never let a broken home break your dreams.

Cancer treatment gave me horrible body dysmorphia. Losing 120 pounds in three months and having people say you look good even though you were fighting for your life. I’m happy now and I’m losing fat in a safe manner. Next year I’ll be a urology resident continuing this journey
