In order for the Venus to participate in an edging session, two things are needed: First, the Venus needs to be upgraded to allow software or remote control. The Mercury 1000 accomplishes this by replacing the stock controller with a computerized controller.

There are so many cool ideas for things the Edge-o-Matic could do that one single firmware update couldn't contain them all! Unless, hypothetically, that firmware update allows for scripting your own programs to run on the device. Please look forward to it!
