yesterday but had some technical difficulties and other obligations until this afternoon. Apologies for the delay. Bruins camp/preseason thoughts up the wazoo.
Regionally, NFL fans in most states (36/50) are rooting for the Bucs over the Patriots Sunday, according to . They collected and analyzed Twitter data:

are, in fact, benching Russell Wilson for the final two games, preserving their financial flexibility for the offseason.
Jarrett Stidham starts.
Bill Belichick sits down in a Bruins hat and starts off his Zoom conference with a message of support.
"We're behind 'em. Go B's. Got a lot of big games coming up. ... Love their style of play. Just want to show our support."
The Celtics being one win away from a championship on the night Tom Brady’s retirement was celebrated might be the most obnoxious spoiled thing this town has done yet in 25+ years lmao
This has become the laziest take of all time. Andy Reid never won anything without Patrick Mahomes or Donovan McNabb. Sean McVay didn't win until he went and got Matt Stafford. Everyone needs a quarterback. This isn't a real criticism.
Richard Sherman went on
@undisputed
yesterday and had some harsh words for Bill Belichick.
“He has been .500 since Tom left.”
“If Kyle Shanahan took his DC, made him OC, and took his ST’s coach and made him his QB coach, you’d say what are you doing?”
Bruins took a bridge roster tied together with bargain-bin contracts to Game 6 of the second round, and lost to a superior opponent. No shame in this one.
Now they can focus on adding a top-6 center and locking up Swayman. Ideally, they also add skill at the wing and a new LD3.
Bruins have:
Pastrnak signed thru 2031
McAvoy, Lindholm thru 2030
Zacha, Carlo thru 2027
Coyle thru 2026
Marchand, Hall, Ullmark thru 2025
And still have Fabian Lysell and Mason Lohrei.
Will be tough to stay a wagon, but they ain't going away after this year.
Almost forgot how unbelievable this play was two years ago. People forget that Mac Jones put the Patriots in position to win this game. Defense couldn't get that last stop.
I always thought Jack got a bad rap for being over the top and having silly catchphrases and all that. He still called a game well between all the shenanigans IMO. If NESN replaces him with some generic Syracuse robot you'll be calling for the tumbling muffins real soon
Jeremy Swayman and Charlie Coyle react to the Bennett goal…
Swayman: “The fact is Coyle was pushed into me and I couldn’t play my position.”
Coyle: “My momentum hits [Swayman], so he can’t get over.”
Patrice Bergeron on Barry Trotz's comments about his gamesmanship at the faceoff dot: “I think he said it was a veteran play. I think it’s a veteran play by him, as a coach, to go into media talk to try to get the officiating to think about it.”
Hi. I’m Mac Jones and I’m on pace to throw for 4,650 yards and 34 touchdowns with no offensive line and a lack of a true WR1…yet people still complain about me.
Al Horford with an indirect message for Kyrie Irving: "The first thing you have to do when you come here is embrace that pressure ... finally overcoming that and putting ourselves with the greats, this is special."
New England weather may not have natural disasters, but it's just kind of a dick all the time. Oh not a cloud in the sky? Here's a 30-degree day. Sunny and 60 degrees? Here's some 300 mph winds ya bitch
Bucs LB Devin White on Mac Jones: "I feel like he's gonna be a good quarterback in this league ... He was poised. We hit him a lot of times and he stayed in the scheme and moved the ball for them when he had to move the ball for them."
Tom Brady couldn't go down to Arizona without his top three receivers and beat the No. 1 team in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers is the greatest to ever play that position.
"Mac Jones' best case scenario is Joe Flacco. ... I don’t think Mac Jones will ever be a Top 10 quarterback in football at any point in his career." —

I think Jack Edwards may be having some health issues and I sympathize with that. But calling Referee

Hunter Henry's wife is pregnant and due at the end of the month. He hopes the birth doesn't fall on a game day, but won't miss the birth of their first child.
Henry: If it had to be a game or see my first born, I'm going to see my child born.
Jim Montgomery on tying Scotty Bowman and Jon Cooper with the 62nd regular season win: "It's awesome but I'd rather have Stanley Cups like they have."
Good answer
Ty and I have talked before about the Panthers not being as tough as they like to pretend they are. Maybe Maroon makes a real difference in this area. Again we are always right on the

The thing I find most remarkable is how Ken Griffey Jr., Mike Piazza, Jeff Bagwell, Chipper Jones, Vlad Guerrero, Jim Thome, Frank Thomas, Ivan Rodriguez, and Larry Walker somehow matched those filthy steroid monsters homer-for-homer and did it with pure heart. The true heroes.
A lot of people won't like this take, but they need to get a real playmaking center for Pastrnak. Name me one scoring wing that does it all by themselves. All due respect to Morgan Geekie, he's a bottom-6 forward. A

center of the future with Pasta will make a huge difference.
@mattdolloff
My problem was a that Swayman was beyond ready for a Cup run.
And I think the high-end guys, especially Pasta and McAvoy, were very disappointing.
This team could’ve went further.
Sneaky my favorite Julian Edelman moment is him saying "I love gettin' hit!" after getting absolutely lit up in Super Bowl XLIX. (also shoutout

I like that the DeVante Parker acquisition frees the Patriots up to use their first-round pick on a much safer spot, like offensive line or anywhere on the defense.
James van Riemsdyk is happy to be a Bruin in TD Garden, as opposed to, say, a Maple Leaf.
"This is one of the best places in the league to play and it's a great atmosphere every night. It's fun to be on the good side of that instead of getting booed, so that's always fun."
The Patriots' accomplishments with Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will only become more impressive and appreciated over time, as fans slowly learn how hard it is to sustain success.
That timeout by Mazzulla with the Celtics up only eight would seem standard in most contexts, but it shows huge growth by him as a head coach. Celtics went on 14-2 run after that TO. Zero field goals by the Mavs.
Drake Maye should be furious. He was allegedly in a competition for the starting QB job. His own coach said he outplayed the other guy. And still, that coach didn’t give Maye the job. Apparently because they want to baby Maye. I’d be fuming after the way Mayo handled it.
Sean McDermott is talking about the wind as if it was just some kind of unfair nuisance, and not something they should've tried to prepare for. Other than N'Keal Harry, the Patriots looked fully prepared for the elements. It felt like the Bills just tried to do their usual stuff.
I'm very, extremely happy for the fans, especially the ones that shelld out the money to come out to TD Garden tonight. It feels like it's been a long time (Bergeron in 2013?) since they had a moment as cathartic as that Pastrnak goal.
"I like to dress up for these special occasions." Linus Ullmark, who has absolutely no connection to baseball whatsoever, as he revealed his cleats from the 1950s."
Cam Newton doing some air drums as the

stretch to Fred Hammond's "We're Blessed." In my four years covering the team I don't remember ever hearing a gospel song at practice. Little change of pace.
We’ve been privileged to witness some of the greatest rivalries in history.

They made the second round after two straight years of first round exits, with good young players emerging in the process. Downward trajectory is an interesting way to look at it
