Personal news: I'm beyond excited to announce I'm the next editor of New England Hockey Journal.
Here's what led me to join such an amazing group

Last title for the big four Boston teams:
Celtics: 2024
Patriots: 2018
Red Sox: 2018
Bruins: 2011
Bruins feel long overdue and it’s only been 13 years.
The most mind-boggling performance from Tuukka Rask was sweeping the Penguins in the 2013 ECF.
4-0-0
134 stops on 136 shots (.985 sv %)
Just absurd when you consider how good that Penguins team was.
What a past week for the Bruins:
- Feb. 23: Trade for Orlov and Hathaway
- Feb. 25: Linus Ullmark scores a goal
- Feb. 28: Ullmark sets the franchise record for saves (54), Bruins sweep road trip
- March 2: Trade for Tyler Bertuzzi
- March 2: Extend David Pastrnak
If this is it for David Krejci in Boston, what a career it was. For over a decade, the Bruins never had to worry about center depth down the middle. Incredibly clutch when it mattered most. A Cup champ.
And he was always criminally underrated.
Now we know why David Pastrnak had his phone out while signing his new contract: He wanted his family to see him do it.
Really cool moment from the latest Behind the B:
David Krejci came in second place (15%) for Bruins player who didn't meet expectations in 2019 in the latest New England Sports survey?
His 73 points in 2018-19 tied a career-best. He also did all of that without a consistent right winger.
What else does he need to do?
I’ve chatted with multiple Warriors staffers (who work in various diff roles in the org) and their experience here in Boston has been crazy.
One told me “I had to take off my Dubs shirt Wed morning because I kept getting cursed out.”
Another: “I’ve been flipped off 17 times.”
Hampus Lindholm on NESN during the intermission when asked how he’s adjusted to a new team:
“My girlfriend said black and gold looks good on me, so what else do you need?”
I mean if we’re gonna do this, Tuukka Rask against Pittsburgh in the 2013 ECF is still the best stretch of games I think I’ve ever seen a goalie play.
134 saves on 136 shots (.985) to sweep THAT Penguins team with two shutouts and a 2-1 2OT win.
