High employee turnover isn’t the problem. It’s a symptom of the REAL problem. FMBA confirms that employees hop to another for even RM50 extra, yet refuses to take the red pill to figure why RM50 extra is desperately needed nowadays.Such system will only enable poor management.

1. Malaysia should implement a system to prevent workers from job-hopping frequently, says the Federation of Malaysian Business Associations. Chairman Abdul Malik Abdullah says although such a system sounds harsh, it would be helpful to both employers and employees.

The starting salary for new graduates joining the Gamuda Group has been increased from RM3,300 to RM3,500 for engineers and from RM3,000 to RM3,200 for non-engineers. Minimum wage for foreign workers increased from RM1,200 to RM1,600. Great news, keep up the momentum!

Here's what you need to know about the reality of negotiation: 1. Know what you want, how much it's worth to you, what you're willing to give up in exchange for it, and at what point you'll have to walk away. Getting a 'no' is not necessarily bad, it's simply a misalignment.

It’s not okay to lie, it’s not okay to ask for pay slip either. Having pay history known to calculate new hire compensation perpetuates pay disparity. In some countries, there are laws prohibiting employers from getting pay history info from prospective employees.

I wish more employees know that, collectively, their voices are always louder than the seemingly 'powerful' boss. It might cost your loss of job as an immediate consequences, but staying into it longer cultivates a toxic culture that impact more people, and a long-lasting culture

This morning on IG, the community is enraged to see injustice for this contributor, advising her to resign immediately & report the employer to the Department of Labor. This opens up a can of worms. Is the Malaysian Employment Act of 1955, amended in 2021, even fair?

@nabilahudatahar The MT earning RM4500 is employed by a large global FMCG company, with highly competitive training program. While the other's company is much smaller scale. We also need to take into account that each training program comes with various scopes of responsibility.

Myth: Govn servants need not worry about medical bills. They're privileged with priority access. Reality: When medical attention is URGENTLY needed, they are likely have to go private to settle it fast. Some still fork out $ for external medical insurance to bulletproof future.

It should be noted that the Act only applies to employees whose monthly wage does not exceed RM 1,500. "Non-EA Employees" are usually governed by the terms of their employment contract. The employment contract MUST be READ in its entirety.

The only misinformed info here is that FMCG is not a company, as claimed by the poster; it's an industry involving companies of various scales and business models. Racial pay disparity exists; it's just not in this particular case.

@picijoon Remote jobs usually don't need to "clock in", the hours are flexible (yet could be around the clock depending on the country you're reporting to), as long as tasks/communication are completed on-time.

3. You earn only what you ask. Set the bar high and then lower it to the level of what you wanted. Oftentimes, simply by asking for something, you will receive significantly more than you expect. Assume nothing about the other party's true motives. Don't underestimate them.
