here's some albums where i think the cover is an integral part of the experience, seems especially true for moodbased genres such as shoegaze/dreampop:

probably the issue with the discourse is putting performativity and authenticity at odds with each other, but posting aesthetic pictures of books and being a pretty girl isn't inherently at odds with engaging seriously with literature

i slightly disagree cuz there are some languages with mutual intellgibility u can learn easily, like a dane can easily learn swedish, norwegian, faroese and icelandic

u're right altho i do think for both their personal style and image was a key part of their thing in a way that i actually don't find completely superfluos or superficial, like forexample i think didions chicness IS legit a key part of her ethos/philosophy...
