It has come to our attention that the full Wicked Witch of the West episode of Sesame Street has been leaked online.
We want to make it very clear that we at the LMW do not condone the leaking/spreading of this episode, which was likely obtained via an illegal data breach.
1/2
We also would like to make it crystal clear that we had zero part in the leaking of this episode - I emphasise this because a 2019 leak of an in-person Sesame Street Lost and Found event was leaked online and misattributed to us, which lead to a lot of stress and headaches.
2/3
PLEASE DO NOT share links to this episode ANYWHERE in the LMW ecosystem (this includes our social media pages, the wiki itself, our forums and our Discord server). This is for yours and our legal safety.
Thank you.

10th anniversary of the Lost Media Wiki!
I decided to pay tribute to the community by drawing the lost media we were searching for then... and have been found now.
Can you name them all?
(Also ft. LMW-tan)
@Bennythebenny
Why wouldn't we? Of course, we love to see highly regarded pieces of lost media get found. But when it's been done in a way that could bring serious legal consequences with it, I feel the need to make sure the LMW doesn't get dragged into any of that.
Just a friendly reminder that we have a Patreon! :)
We don't really have any special rewards to give out like exclusive videos because, well, we're a wiki, not a YouTube channel 😅 But every little bit really does help.
Thank you to everyone who is or has been a patron 🙏
The LMW Teespring store is officially open!
It will be periodically updated with new designs/items, but for now, here is our first one, a hoodie featuring an awesome London After Midnight inspired design by our in-house illustrator

Hey all, just letting you know that the wiki will be going down for maintenance at around 10PM April 18 (Central Time), which will last for about four hours. Please try not to make any edits near to that time, as they may not be saved properly. Thanks 🙂
I'm happy to announce the first stable version of The Lost Media and Research Handbook. This book is written for those who are just getting into lost media hunting, need a refresher, or just like deep dive researching. Tell me what you think!
OK, time to address this... Over the past couple of days we had Jason Scott of the Internet Archive join our Discord server, but he had some trouble getting into it initially, due to the phone verification we had in place to prevent trolls.

Are any Japanese speakers interested in helping us with our newest hunt?
Users on our Discord have voted the lost Japanese "White Shadow People" commercial as our next On the Hunt search:

Just wanted to personally apologise for the people being disrespectful towards you on the LMW forums over this - it’s uncalled for and we’ve temporarily locked the thread as a result.
Thank you for everything you do and all the best,
-dycaite
I hope this has cleared things up and I hope someday Jason and I can see eye to eye and get past this silly, unnecessary feud. Jason, if you’re reading this, I apologise for my behaviour.

Because a lot of people have been commenting on how this is a win for "lost media" and, like it or not, we're the first result when you Google that phrase. Also, we were mistakenly accused of another Sesame Street leak in 2019 and I don't want a repeat of that situation.

Would like to give a shoutout to Mahvl's videos on the Super Mario screamer (he started the search), which are fantastic:

Hoo boy, this year is already starting to test my patience. Apologies for the downtime, we are doing everything we can to rectify the situation. Stay tuned

@ZekeFreek
You have to understand that the Lost Media Wiki is a passion project. None of us make any money off of it and none of us are rich.
I cannot risk getting myself or them dragged into a situation like this.
@AlanMephisto
@TruthScarier
The American Archive of Public Broadcasting had a data breach last year during which time several Sesame Street episodes were illegally taken from their servers. This episode is likely one of them.
@_appletater_
I know right, lmao
If you have access to Google, you have access to the episode. People are acting like we singlehandedly banned anybody from even daring to watch it.
@Chadtronic
Hi there! I'm dycaite from the Lost Media Wiki - is there anywhere I could talk to you privately? Perhaps an email? You can reach me at lostmediawiki

I quickly realised that this was a bad approach and attempted to apologise. About half an hour later, I was blocked and he had left the LMW server. Attached to at this tweet is a direct screenshot of my messages to him for transparency.

@Jefferyquentin1
In this instance there are clear signs that it was likely sourced illicitly from an archival organisation with ties to the Library of Congress:
In hindsight, complaining on Twitter is not at all out of the ordinary, but it did leave me feeling a bit taken aback that he chose to publicly talk poorly of us instead of just reaching out to us to begin with.

While we of course want lost media to be found and love when it happens, the legal safety of our users and ourselves has to take precedence here.
Check out
@NickstoryWiki
, a new project from our friend
@CDCBsVCR
!
It's an archive of Nickelodeon broadcast schedules and it clearly already has a lot of passion behind it, looking forward to seeing how it progresses!
@GothHelm
(P.S. the blurry jagged effect is from Teespring compressing the source image for the preview file - it will not look like this when you get it and will be nice, smooth and well printed)
@dem11god
A better way of finding it? You mean like, finding it without stealing from an archival org. with ties to a government agency? Yes, I think there was a better way of finding it (patience is a virtue).
