- took much longer than 1h, mostly bc of cross-referencing books and tutorials to compare with my video reference
I have so much to learn.

... not really. Started as one but took much longer.
Trying to practise more naturalistic movement and weight after the critique i got on my exam

(more, mostly research)
Found no refs for how the Ext. Digitorum looks when moving fingers individually in any book or video.
This is what I assume is happening based on how I understand muscles work and what I can see and feel on irl reference.
Thank you for watching
#ONEPIECE1101
This was my anime debut! I only did a small part, but it was an incredible honor.
My 13 y/o self would never believe me...

The Anconeus is actually mostly for stabilizing the outstretched arm, but it effectively helps out the Triceps which does the bulk of the motion depicted

Muscle belly expansion exaggerated for clarity.
I found that lot of anatomy books for artists ignore the thumb muscle group. I'll do the superficial ones.
Gobelins X The Animation Workshop 48h jam!
So much fun and sooo much talent!!
(My part near the end was really just s bunch of studies lol Check below for credits and comparison to my refs!)

The Flexor Carpi Ulnaris actually flexes when you flex your pinkie to stabilize the wrist. It DOESN'T move the pinkie itself.
It's very difficult to animate a muscle when the tendon isn't actually moving...

(4h). I have recently noticed, just how lacking my anatomy is. These studies aren't as flashy as the action ones, but I need to improve so I won't be held back in the future.
Please be patient with me!

Muscle bellies exaggerated for clarity.
Animating individual muscles is a TRAP:
Often multiple muscles work in tandem to create a movement. Our amazing hand dexterity comes from an intricate play between muscles stabilizing and finetuning each other.

Tonight I spend 8 hours trying to hand animate a dolly zoom. Couldn't figure it out so I tried animating it in 3D and traced over it.

Well, this was easy to animate.
The Palmaris Longus muscle is actually missing in about 10% of people. Flex your wrist and check if you can find the tendon! I wonder how many of you guys have it lol

(4h) Arm anatomy
The
@prokotv
reference had this little jitter in the biceps when the model raised his arm which I found fascinating. I have the same jitter, but only when lowering my arm...

Wanted to be rough and actually finish smth in 1h
Reference is a Shen Yun video .... man I really wanna see their performance but the ticket prices ...
Live Action Timing is so slow even when you account for the framerate lol
I just want to make it go WOOSH, but it's nice to restrict yourself to the reference sometimes like I did here

Repost fixing a major mistake.
Extensor Digitorum. In addition to lifting the wrist it also ... extends the digits. Will add individual finger motion tomorrow.

MORE CIRQUE DU SOLEIL WHOO
I started doing studies of Chainsaw Man Cuts (i won't post those here), so I've been making 2-3 anim studies per day ... I hope I'll speed up eventually hahaha
I love drawing hands! It's a lot of fun!
I still have a lot to learn. I hope the animated anatomy studies aren't a waste of time, but will help me draw more intuitively in the future.

THIS TOOK 12 HOURS HAHA
From
@prokotv
video ref.
I was obsessed with going very detailed and spend a lot of time cross-referencing, rewatching tutorials. I tried to make it as accurate as possible (while stylizing)
