Digital 2d animation is at this point where if it looks good a lot of ppl think it's a trick cuz we use computers. Every medium of anim uses technology to make the process easier ya'll but it's not a trick. It takes the same eye to animation principles and acting.

not crediting animators is such a common practice, I'm glad people are sitting up and taking notice. I know it seems shocking when the animation looks beautiful, how could you NOT credit them when they make the show? But that goes for so many other projects too.

this is exactly 100% it. If you think animation quality is diminishing just know that it has to do with profit over people - and not supporting the artists on those shows is exactly what leads to it. Some of these animators are doing 40+ seconds a week :/

now no shade to the og tweet i know they're just sharing cool stuff not talking about how 60 fps is superior. BUT this same intent is if you put something on 2's and then get a computer to fill in the blanks and put it on 1.s even if it s 24 frames a second . It slows it down

technically does it? no , but to the eye does it ? yes. It takes out the contrast and fills in the blank spots with a perfectly middle 'even' frame. That evenness waters down the contrast and rhythm of your timing, like music with a good beat turning into a long drone of noise.

framerate and the timing within that framerate is intentional to what the scene needs to communicate the story. Its not a button click or a project settings kind of thing - this why changing it after the fact will always detract from the original feeling.

Another reminder from an artist who has worked in the animation industry that while tech has grown and has creative perks - a lot of it has lead to scope creep, jobs being combined, and expectations being raised. I've heard " This will make it faster/easier" Time and time again.

In north america we complain that its a 'medium' not a genre but we perpetuate that very idea with animation education not always involving flim making techniques from the get-go and just train people to be part of that genre.
