What if Texas had a county-level electoral college, for some reason? Biden would have won 1472 to 1261, for one thing. Beto would've won 1548 to 1185. This system of apportionment is based on the same ratio as the US electoral college, if every state had 1 EC vote as default.

I don't think this is unique to Texas, but a lot of medium-small cities down here have One Tall Building that has no real reason to exist given the surrounding density. Most of them come from the 80s economic boom.

Here's maps for 1908, 1904, 1900, and 1896. Not skipping over any elections this time. Personally I think the 1908 Taft map is the funniest of this project. Two counties in Colorado paired with Cairo, Illinois, for whatever reason?

These density maps of DFW and Atlanta at the same scale show why the latter's sprawl is so much more egregious to me. DFW has 1.7 million more residents and is geographically smaller. The average DFW suburb is clearly more dense.

@Hroark3234 @allymutnick @Redistrict pretty much, and many of these seats will be tossup or lean-D by the end of the decade if the suburbs continue to shift. We saw TXGOP gamble in the state sen. map and they're also gambling here that they can reverse the suburban trends - if they're wrong these maps will backfire.
