i rarely praise music this highly but 2 baddies might be the best kpop album in god knows how many years.........i was NOT expecting it to be THIS good
info from a girl. don’t wanna share her name for english speakers, cause she might have troubles with sm. she’s ex worker. she worked in sm up to 2019.
she said 1~2~7 has the best trained vocal line in nct 🤫
@lenyyxy
ur correct and it's odd that ppl are taking offense lol. having some background in classical doesn't make someone competent let alone proficient. this is what a trained soprano would sound like on this song. note the coordination and projection, it's not comparable whatsoever.
take a random sample of 3rd or 2nd gen idols and tell them to sing raw with no backtrack and it'll be similar to this. the reason those older gens were superior is bc they had better stand-outs, the bulk of every group has and will always be filled w singing fodder.
they're not that far apart but jaehyun's superior lows and mids put him ahead. having an extensive but poorly connected upper register doesn't outweigh stronger cord development within one's supported range.
if his support was the worst, he'd be sounding thin, uncoordinated, and disconnected like ur faves lol. no one says idols need to be great vocalists but there's a continuum of development and jh sits higher along it than the boys u simp for.
out of all the vocalists listed here jaehyun has the worst support/technique and i think thats really funny. i dont wanna hear yall abt renjun voice cracking either bc he debuted during puberty so what do u expect 💀 lets use our brains a bit here
1. his mixed voice is the 3rd strongest, none of the ppl below him can produce belts as full as him up to F
#4
. again, better developed mid belts>>>whiney, poorly connected 5th octave mixing
2. no one besides dy and ti even has a properly connected head voice. the transitions
@xiaoxiaodejun
it's funny to me that
#that
fandom always tries to imply gaon sales are somehow NOT sales when they're the only chart certified by the korean government for companies to file financial records with lol...
r u like...not embarrassed about googling terms u don't actually understand and then misusing them lmao. messa di voce is a crescendo followed by a decreschendo, in a single vocal line. it doesn't refer to mixing ratio or transitions.
considering she's supporting mlxed eb5s and head voice f
#5s
all while singing with good intonation and attempting challenging transitions, we really don't even need other clips to say she's very easily the best 4th gen idol group vocalist.
nct vocal line rank bc we all know where the non vocalist will be 💀
taeil
doyoung
xiaojun
haechan
renjun
kun
yuta
chenle
ten
jaehyun
winwin
jungwoo
the rest 🤭
#sijeuniespace
true, hyolyn supports her notes properly she could never sound this thin and shallow on simple 4th octave phrases. lipping can't save them either sadly.
@doyutiful
this tweet is so funny because if you actually understand singing, you'd know that singing w poor cord closure (aka airy) is the quickest way to fry your voice....and that's exactly how jk was singing in that particular clip...not our taeil though!
@Igbt127
0:29, 1:02, 1:19 he's doing good on the most difficult parts which are the belts. there are pitch issues especially during transitions but that's nothing catastrophic. hear that g
#4
at 1:19, this is better supported and more full than any note a member of that group ever sang.
clown. u don't understand what any of those terms even mean 😭😭 first of all who told u there is no melismatic and upper register singing in classical music, r u just reinventing what opera is lmfao?
the fact is most kpop idols dont actually have technique/support you all think ab because idol singing is always very runs, higher register, nasal placements. the technique yall try to talk about is for classical singing, which is veryyy different from pop songs.
also they're all dancing at high intensity and the audio is as raw as it gets, literally 0 compression lol...this is quite literally what most idols regardless of generation would sound like in this setting.
taeil doyoung and jaehyun have good diaphragmatic engagement, developed chest participation within their mix, decent cord closure, and sing relatively tensionless within their supported ranges. the mosquitoes whose vocal folds haven't closed properly since 2013 cannot relate!
she is not your vocal rival guys...like at all. tha gap there is the size of the pacific ocean. it's really not just high belts, her entire range is much better connected and properly supported with much more complete cord development in chest and mix.
@xiaoxiaodejun
like my dude....where do you think your fave got the x2 million certificate from? why do you think they're called gaon SALES and not gaon stock or whatever let's use our common sense now
ppl who have 0 clue about how singing works: THIS RANKING IS SO UNSERIOUS!!! *proceeds to not give any explanation for why it is unserious and mocking anyone who tries to explain it*
essentially the only real weakness you listed when comparing him to the people below him is his weaker falsetto but that wouldn't make him worse when he beats everyone below him from C3 to G4 and the people that beat him above that aren't doing it with proper technique anyway
like I said before, stronger support and vocal fold development are the most important qualities because they are essentially the basis of everything else.
you're talking about are into and out of falsetto.
3. no one in nct can use proper dynamics. crescendo, decrescendo, messa di voce...they just don't do that.
4. there isn't a notable difference in anyone's live agility after taeil. and even he isn't really agile.
1. midzys need to stop acting like ailee sounded good bc it was autotuned when this is what the woman sounds like live and impromptu
2. neither group is touching ailees singing 😭😭 actually no one in Korea is with the exception of two other divas lmfao
@xiaoxiaodejun
Are we just going to ignore the fact that 127 broke the Hanteo record with ONLY the three photobook versions (same as dream) being accounted for? Jewel case won't release till next week.
nctzens don't see queer ppl and esp queer men as humans. when they're not busy calling the neos gay as a way to emasculate them (bc that's how they view gay men), they make nasty jokes like this one that further reinforce cishet stereotypes lol
Tbh, I'm not even offended when they throw in the truck jokes. Like, it just shows how dedicated the fandom is to protect the things that dreamies deserved. The fact that they're much more offended by it just shows that they can't even backup how their faves won it lol
this was muted 2 days ago but since y'all are gona keep shooting for a hypothetical random sample, might as well stick around and give an actual excellent technical vocalist some views
baffling how you managed to write all this and not get a single thing right.
1) no one is judging kpop singers with real classical standards. if we did that, none of them would even qualify as average tier. however, classical standards form a foundation
@hausofsexual
@xiaoxiaodejun
if they want the deluxe boxes with ugly merch only avaliable in the usa then they also have to take chuseok friday noon release date, low effort teasers, worse album inclusions, and a collapse in their chinese fanbase
and you clearly don't know the difference between belting in coordinated chest voice (shirley bassey, Mahalia Jackson, etc) and using a chestier mixed voice. no idol vocalist has developed a coordinated chest belt, they're all mixing. ppl you're hyping just aren't as good at
yall do this every month. you've been told over and over that the tier names are arbitrary, being "average" is already better than 95% of all idols. unclench.
maybe given what we know happened last year, it's not wise to keke over idols being hypersexual walking red flags whos only goal is to sleep around? just a thought.
johnnys probably laid up in bed w some hot la model actress combo and I’m sitting here wondering where he is how the flight was if he’s feeling okay did he eat something is he sleeping well I’m SICK
even if you get rid of 127's top two strongest vocalists they'd still be ahead by a good margin lol, the only ones laughing are the people who understand singing and know what an embarrassment to sm vocal legacy dream is...
y'all do realize the grades are what they are because A would basically be for like...kelly/mariah/celine level singers right? this isn't within the idol context only.
putting effort into your singing =/= struggling. her coordination and development is way ahead of ur faves, hence why she can belt in the 5th octave without going overly heady or shrill 👀
i am talking out of my ass but u can't differentiate a crescendo and a glissando? getting more pushy as you slide from g
#4
to a4 isn't dynamic control. and all those examples you're talking about are done in falsetto, airy and lacking in proper connection.
absolutely nothing abnormal about being friendly and nice why do you freaks want to impose ur virgin core badly written erotica onto every idol u stan...like how about YEW go find some bitches first
sm has the best vocalists in all of kpop. they have names like jonghyun and onew attached to the label...they've got boa and taeyeon luna...wendy ... they've got changmin baekhyun chen taeil xiaojun doyoung haechan kun chenle renjun... they've got kyungsoo... be serious ?????
@127Ltd
unchecked inferiority complex in combination with vicariously living through your faves achievements when you don't have your own will do that, yes
@IMSSRYU
@lenyyxy
@MsShyChey
u guys are focusing too much on the semantics and not enough on what level of technique she is delivering. classical standards require a coordinated head voice with the ability to project over an orchestra without a mic. her head voice isn't even semi operatic by that criteria.
incorporating proper chest voice presence into their mix, which is why they sound hollow and frail. and please do link me examples or them having connected head voices, because that's news to me. as for dynamics, sorry but getting breathy and then pushy isn't dynamic control.
why was this ratioed lol?...seungkwan is very far ahead in belting and is one of the few idols who actually achieves some degree of roundness in his vowels. strained masked falsetto is not a feat to be hyping.
@miraclecityzen
me talking about a toddler running: he TRANSPOSED his body from POINT A to POINT B (10 meters!) while utilizing the ADENOSINE TRIPHOSPHATE in the mitochondria of his GASTROCNEMIUS and QUADRICEPS muscles...! prodigy.
@yongodly
where is this narrative coming from? this has happened before with neo zone and resonance, the numbers they report before the official gaon chart release always end up being those gaon numbers
id be fucking mad too if my group's main vocalist, a tenor with a relatively high tessitura couldn't support above an e4 and didn't have strong support even within his best range! embarrassing af
people like you focus too much on hitting random pitches and not enough on how those pitches are actually achieved. nothing is stopping jh from whining in tense mixed voice like the other main vocalists, and if he did it wouldn't make him any better than he is now unless he
@nikkimouse1923
ok, semantics aside this really doesn't change the fact that the only ones who have been able to properly connect their head voice are ti and dy. everyone else is just too airy. my point is that jaehyun's quality of support and cord development set him ahead (1/)
kpop stans need to get this idea out of their heads that squawking in mixed voice is the same as proper belting. almost any tenor off the street can squawk you a c
#5
at minimum. it's truly not as difficult as you think, you can even try it for yourself if you're not tone deaf.
most idol groups don't sing live that often, and when they do it's typically edited. the difference is 127 has several people who can sing correctly when the time comes. and your unit? not so much.
learned to actually hit the notes with support. for now, he has demonstrated the ability to belt with a stronger, more supported sound than xj in basically the entire 4th octave up to g
#4
. that is much more difficult to develop than whiney mixed voice or falsetto in the 5th.
Just because Wendy is the only one who can sing in her group doesn't mean she's best 3rd gen singer bffr she can sing but its ridiculous how much they overate her, more than half the girls put in above average are just as or even more vocally competent and versatile then her
@mysonezen
thanks! I want to know why op isn't addressing the elephant in the room, that being: which retailers would agree to buy hundreds of thousands of albums they know they won't sell (therefore huge profit loss) just to help one specific group look good?
@IMSSRYU
@lenyyxy
@MsShyChey
no offense to her she's passable as a pop singer, but this is not what a trained opera soprano would sound like. this is like calling a 5th grade honors math student a professional mathematician.
@lenyyxy
ur correct and it's odd that ppl are taking offense lol. having some background in classical doesn't make someone competent let alone proficient. this is what a trained soprano would sound like on this song. note the coordination and projection, it's not comparable whatsoever.
@LinaMen22820227
never disputed this point. enjoy what you enjoy. but it's pretty disingenuous to act like the op wasn't trying to whip up shade and imply that hyolyn is technically lacking in some sense.
upon which all styles are derived from. almost all great pop singers have received some form of classical or adjacent training. the general principles of support, breath managment, legato, etc all originate from classical schools like the bel canto.
the falsetto examples were actually all head voice...falsetto would be a lot more disconnected and thin. head voice doesn't necessarily need to sound operatic, it can also be quite light and bright like in these examples.
when r kpop stans going to realize mr removed audios are just acapella filtered edits and not actual live mic feeds lol...the backtrack layer is almost impossible to disentangle from whatever live vocals (if any) are underneath.
@nikkimouse1923
and bringing up ornamentation techniques that no one in nct really has a solid grasp of doesn't change the fact that jh has a better developed, fuller instrument (2/)
