This is how you make reparations. Daniel benefited (and still benefits) from the work of a billionaire transphobe. So he puts his name, his fame and his energy in giving to and helping the trans community. Bless him.
Six trans and nonbinary young people sat down with Daniel Radcliffe in a candid and heartfelt conversation about their journeys and what genuine allyship looks like.

2 days ago I had 48 followers, mostly local librarians and my friends. Now I have over 4600. It has been a weird couple of days.
I just posted a pic of my fun jumper because I hadnβt worn it before.
Who knew it would tap into a deep, deep love of librarians around the world.
Just had a grown man yell βStop fucking eating!!β at me as I sat on a bench in Willis Street eating my lunch before I go to an appointment. This is the shit fat women put up with in public.
Bariatric surgery is mutilation of perfectly healthy organs. Nobody talks about how many people die after having it. Nobody talks about how many people spend the rest of their life with an eating disorder after it.
Lisa Marie Presley died in January as a result of βa small bowel obstructionβ caused by scar tissue that developed after bariatric surgery years ago, the Los Angeles County Medical Examinerβs office said on Thursday.
It's a bit bloody rich seeing Countdown touting for donations for food banks when they could just solve the problem by NOT MAKING SUCH A GIANT PROFIT!!
Lower your food prices, stop asking us to fund the problem you create.
Of course there are always fat shamers who turn up. Like I don't already know I'm fat! Always men of course, they're not the sharpest bunch.
Yes, I'm fat, move on.
If you haven't already started watching Cunk On Earth on Netflix, you should get on it. I've been crying laughing all evening. How Diane Morgan manages to keep a straight face while asking the daftest questions of pompous academics is pure poetry.
Ok hereβs the full outfit. Pinafore is from Joolz Fashion. Care Bears tights are from Snag. Shoes are Doc Martens. Care Bears earrings are custom made by Lost Without You Patches. Brooch is Erstwilder. Yellow t-shirt is from Postie.
We are quite literally watching the media and it's right wing supporters pick off each and every woman of colour in politics one by one in Aotearoa. While we have a sitting MP that once beat a child with a bed leg.
Read that again.
For those of you who are new followers - I'm sweary, I rant about stuff, I'm a far leftie who has no tolerance for bigotry, TERF's can fuck off, I love and value the trans members of the community, and I'm also disabled and chronically ill.
Is that all you need to know?
I just want to remind everyone this morning: food has no moral value. You are allowed to eat. You are allowed to enjoy eating. You are allowed to eat whatever you want, whenever you want. Yes, even if you are fat.
Folks in Aotearoa (or elsewhere if you want to) - it's our duty to learn and use te reo MΔori as much as possible right now. I will be signing up for training through work and pursuing other learning too.
Libraries and librarians are precious and yet still vulnerable to funding cuts and a lack of political support everywhere.
Use your libraries or you will lose your libraries.
People still harass and abuse fat women online (and off) but I feel like all my years of fighting for us to be treated with dignity and respect has paid off somewhat.
99% of the response Iβve had has been SO lovely.
Had a small win today. Someone told me they refused to use they/them because "It's always a plural." I responded "We have an electrician coming this afternoon, not sure what time they will be here." I saw a lightbulb go on in her eyes!
I have so many replies my Twitter app wonβt show them all. I read as many as I could but I canβt keep up.
Thank you all for being so lovely.
Still a bit overwhelmed that a picture of me in a jumper could go so unbelievably viral. 15,000 retweets at last snapshot.
Wellington fam - please don't let rumours of a cancellation of Parker's event tomorrow trick you into not showing up. It's an old tactic. Go, if for nothing else to show trans folk solidarity.
Someone emailed me a reddit thing FULL of people saying nice things about me/my jumper.
5 years ago reddit was the source of 80% of the relentless trolling, threats and harassment I received for being a visible fat woman on the internet.
Iβm having some complicated feelings.
Also here are some photos of me. In the first one I'm working on crochet while I listen, because I'm a fidgeter. The second one is me presenting my session on Fat Friendly Reads. Photos by Cerian Wagstaff Hamilton
Do you know the best way to show me love?
Visit your local library. If youβre not already a member, join. Take a friend with you. Get them to join. And USE your library.
Ok for those of you who are confused about the word βjumperβ, itβs what Australians call a sweater/jersey/pullover. I actually donβt know the origins of the word.
Folks in Aoteroa... please, please enrol to vote and then actually vote. The far right are activating to make sure they all vote. When we actually all vote, we beat them easily. But in this country too many people don't vote.
That tweet has been viewed 20,000 times in two hours and rapidly counting.
I guess visibility as a very fat woman in a loud jumper is still activism right?
How lovely! Iβve got lots of books, so would you please donate them to a womenβs shelter for me? Vulnerable women and children find so much comfort from a good book, and often lose their own books when fleeing violence. π
@LibraryKath
Hey Kath! We love your librarian spirit! (and your AMAZING jumper!) We'd love to send you a gift box to spread the book love. If you're interested, please DM us your address β€οΈπ
Evidence that dressing up as literary characters is not new for me. This is about a decade ago in Brisbane, for a βfranchise written by a TERF that shall not be namedβ event. Before we knew she was TERFy.
I know I'm not supposed to have favourites, but the wee boy (10ish) who always punches the air and shouts "This library rocks!!" as he leaves after each visit may just be the one that breaks that rule.
Also, it is 3 years today since I first posted my profile pic (and the pinned tweet on my profile) and went insanely viral. Over 40 million people viewed that tweet. I went from 48 librarian followers to almost 10 thousand!
Letβs see a picture of you in a πsuit or π.
I wear dresses almost every day - they're easy and comfy and you can layer them up for cooler weather. Here's a favourite dress - my Riots Not Diets dress from Cutting Shapes Club.
Letβs see a picture of you in a πsuit or πdress.
Dresses are my version of leggings: comfy + easy. I don't own leggings.
Here's a pic from last month with my 9yo before a cheer camp. She was nervous and I said we should take "fashion model" pics together. It helped!
Oh and yeah, we've established I'm fat, and I will be ranting quite regularly about the injustices and hate fat people have to deal with. I've been doing it for nearly 20 years and I won't be stopping now.
Today was
@FOMNZ
βs private tangi. It was a beautiful celebration of her life and I was so honoured to be asked to be a pallbearer and speak on behalf of the fat community.
It's like people think that I don't know I'm fat. And that I don't know that fat people are generally hated on sight. Even if we are librarians that wear cute jumpers.
Flat hunting is SOUL destroying. I should have landlords clamouring over me, I'm boring, I have a cleaner that keeps anywhere I live lovely, my idea of fun is a book in bed and I have a glowing history of renting for 35 years.
The options are so shitty!
I once bled heavily for 18 months. I told my doctor that I'd had an 18 month long heavy period and his response?
"Time to lose that weight and get a boyfriend, then when you're ready to have a baby, we'll talk."
I was 19.
Sorry, I am SO not maternal. Iβll be your cool Auntie who gives you books about amazing women from history and takes you to her tattooist on your 18th birthday though.
Cat was probably my fiercest supporter for a very, very long time. It was her endless support and belief in me that propelled me in so many things. It was Cat who turned me into a published writer. She never doubted that I could do anything.
There are people ridiculing New Zealand for it's lock down over 1 case. Firstly, in four days that has become 51 cases. Secondly, we lock down so that people don't die. In the whole pandemic, we've had 26 deaths in NZ.
Sorry I can't answer/say hello to you all - I'm swamped by replies and other notifications right now.
Here is a great big howdy to all the new people, and a high five to those of you who have been around for a while.
40 years ago "hyperactivity" was in every class.
40 years ago, there was a kid in my class deathly allergic to peanuts and bees.
40 years ago I was a fat kid.
40 years ago autistic children were still institutionalised with dangerous adults.
"Often as a woman it's when you stop harming yourself that people think that something has gone wrong in your life."
@Remember_Sarah
spitting some truths on
@yourewrongabout
Iβve woken up with a sore throat. So that means isolating and a Covid test two days before Christmas. Itβs now very likely I will have to spend Christmas at home alone.
And Iβm FURIOUS because I know someone brought their sick kids into the library on Monday.
The bitch is back baby!!! A HUGE thank you to
@missfoxhairdressing
and the team for the dream hair theyβve given me today. They really are the best in the biz!!
A couple of regular kiddos on the bus I caught home today, both super keen for me to sit near them. We had a lovely chat, they're on their way O/S to visit relatives. As they got off the bus Mum stopped and said to me "We are so lucky to have you at the library."
AWWWWWWWWW!!!
I know, y'all want me to be smiley caterpillar librarian lady, not angry fat woman tweeting about science and shaming and fatphobia.
Soz loves, I'm both. Ya don't get one without the other.
Ok strap in, this is a vent. I went to the rheumatologist today. We do not have a good relationship, he doesn't like to listen but does like to gaslight.
