Fertility Sign 1: Cervical Fluid In a typical cycle, after menstruation estrogen begins to rise. This estrogen sends instructions to both the ovary to finish maturing an egg, AND to the cervix, to make cervical fluid.

There’s 3 sets of tests! - cervical fluid selects the best sperm and holds back the lesser quality ones (100 million down to 250) - the egg releases chemoattractants for about 25 of those to select 1 - the uterine wall can detect abnormalities & choose not to allow attachment

Cervical fluid is our most reliable diagnostic fertility sign. When we feel cervical fluid and vaginal sensation, we have a good indication that we are currently fertile. The fertility window with cervical fluid is typically around 6 days.

If its irresponsible to talk about body literacy, then you're arguing that the responsible thing to do is to conceal this information. It's an inherently misogynist viewpoint to suggest concealing the menstrual cycle and the basic knowledge on how it works is the answer here.

This is how. Progesterone and estrogen are hormones that regulate our mental state. Each menstrual cycle, these hormones drop to baseline. In pregnancy you make WAY WAY more of these hormones than a typical cycle. And then birth is triggered by a more intense and rapid drop.

"Fertility Awareness Method" is an umbrella term for several different categories of methods. It's important to note that we only wish to share the most accurate scientific knowledge, which is why we use the *Sympo-Thermal Method* It is the most reliable and most effective.

The first thing to establish is whether you have experienced any identifiable fluid that day [Yes/No] If no, you consider this a dry, infertile day. If yes, attempt to categorize that fluid - Sticky/Tacky - Creamy/Lotiony - Wet/Watery/Slippery - Stretchy/Egg-white

Body literacy easily identifies estrogen dominance, two ways. No blood test necessary. - Chart your daily cervical secretions (wipe test, underwear observations, vaginal sensation) - Measure/estimate your blood loss with menstrual cup or # of products used. Note color & clots

@PutrinoLab How do I find this out? What tests would show? I went to an endo to try to understand what might be happening with my sex hormones with LC and was belittled for even asking about it.

100% And this extends to people with prediabetic conditions like #PCOS , insulin resistance, thyroid and adrenal problems. It’s very difficult to navigate individual reversal of these issues when these social conditions exist.

Researchers who study Type 2 diabetes have reached a stark conclusion: There is no device or drug powerful enough to counter the effects of poverty, pollution, stress, a broken food system, cities that aren't walkable, and inequitable access to healthcare.

It is impaired folliculogenesis that stalls ovulation in #PCOS (bc of high insulin & androgens). The outer layer of the follicle (theca) produces testosterone, thickens, stalling the follicles development process, resulting in multiple follicles on ovaries instead of ovulating

FSH causes these selected follicles to develop special granulosa cells. These cells surround the oocytes & their most important job is to begin secreting estrogen.

Unfortunately this is a common misnomer with the term PCOS. Polycystic ovaries are not actually cysts. They are regular ovarian follicles that are stalled by the presence of androgens preventing them from maturing to ovulation. They do not cause pain.

@learnbodylit Lol it literally is…break down the terms Poly= many Cystic= relating to cysts Polycystic ovaries relate to multiple/many cysts on the ovaries Ovarian= relating to ovaries Ovarian cysts= cysts growing on OR in the ovaries. Both can be painful. Both can be filled with fluid
