Congratulations to our LAL Premier Division champions
@WhitworthValley
who at the end of the most competitive top division for quite some time have come out on top. Well done to all at the club 👍🏻🏆⚽️👏🏻
Captain Ross Mallinson and Manager Steve Eccleshare show off the John Howard Shield after our 5-2 win.
Thanks to the L&C for hosting and for their hospitality.
Divisions for 2023/24 have just been sent to Club Secretaries. Will be a short period until Full Time can be updated but here they are.
Fixtures are being worked on now.
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Ken Barlow.
Ken joined the League Council of the LAL in 1976 for four years, then rejoined in 1991 and only stepped down in 2015 due to ill health - a grand total of 28 years service. He will be missed by all of us.
As we are all aware, this weekend is the time for Remembering, so the Lancashire Amateur League respectfully ask that all clubs wishing to do so, observe a minutes silence before the commencement of your games this Saturday.
Yours sincerely
Peter J Duffy
League Secretary
Terribly sad to learn of the passing of
@Mostonians_AFC
club stalwart and dedicated volunteer Bryan Powell.
The LAL committee and the league send their condolences to all at the club.
Grassroots football is a poorer place tonight.
⚽️
A remarkable season for
@boltonwyresdale
with the 1st XI and Reserves both winning their divisions and their A Team hoping for 2nd in their league.
Testament to a well run club and the commitment of Aamar and everyone involved.
⚽️👏🏻
After discussions today the L.A.L have decided that due to the inclement weather ALL games whether on grass or artificial surface for this weekend (03.03.18) will be postponed.
This decision has been taken with the safety of players traveling to, and taking part in games.
Thrilled to report that the LAL side won 3-1 tonight against all the odds.
Goals from Callum Hewitt, Sean Rushton and Jonathon Thompson saw us retain the shield against the Liverpool County Premier League.
Photos to follow. 👍🏻⚽️👏🏻
The League Management Committee hopes everyone involved with our clubs is and remains safe and well.
Mindful of the challenges you will be facing - and we hope your players continue to be supportive at this time - the following Funding Relief Package for Clubs has been agreed -
Unless we received further instruction today from the County FA and FA, our games tomorrow will proceed as planned to allow clubs to come together and observe a minute's silence before all matches.
We will, of course, update clubs as necessary via Secretaries and on here.
The draw for the Quarter Finals of the LAL &
@LandCAFL
Inter League Cup has been made. Four sides from each league remain.
1 Moston Brook V Old Blackburnians
2 Roach Dynamos V Abacus Media
3 Salford Vic/Hattersley V Winstanley St Aidans
4 Whitworth Valley V Mellor
As you'll likely know our clubs cannot move in or out of a Tier 3 region or local authority to participate in games.
Our volunteers are painstakingly going through fixtures to see how we can games out for as many clubs as possible. This is being done today. Sit tight.
𝐖𝐄’𝐑𝐄 𝐆𝐎𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 🌹
Huge congratulations to
@WinstStAidans
who are through to the Lancashire FA Amateur Cup Final. Thanks to goals from Hull (x2), Roughley and Hanley & a penalty save from Liptrot.
🏆 Bring it home lads!

Best of luck to our clubs in the amateur cups today as you represent your club and our league.
Don’t put up with any teammate, manager or spectator giving the officials grief. Round on them, THEY are KILLING our game - we can do without THEM but not the officials
#norefnogame
Disappointed to have listened to reports of supporters giving players and officials abuse this season.
It isn't acceptable. Clubs will be asked how they plan to prevent a repeat. We need a culture of sportsmanship and respect - the alternative is no volunteers or officials.
Heartened to receive a message from clubs suggesting we contact a younger referee who had been disappointed in his performance, telling him he did well. Always great when clubs care enough to give our officials confidence in their journey 👍⚽️
A reminder to our clubs that if you have agreement from your opponents and the referee you can move your game forward OR back in the same week.
For example - If a Tue suits everyone better than a Wed, the league are ok with it.
Let’s get games played!
Our season will start on Saturday 10th August with the Mushy Cup between hosts
@RdaleStClements
and Double Winners
@WhitworthValley
The season begins for higher divisions on Saturday 17th August.
Meeting of clubs will be early August with fixtures released around then.
We are aware of the government statement but as yet we have nothing definitive from FA/CFAs. In the meantime we are still working on fixtures and providing football for all clubs/teams within the LAL
Best wishes to all leagues, clubs & players - stay safe!
It’s LAL Cup Finals week!
Tue 30th 7.15 1st XI at the County Ground
Thu 2nd 7pm A/B at Daisy Hill FC
Sat 4th 2.30 2nd XI at Daisy Hill FC
All £3 and £1 concessions
First up Whitworth Valley v Mostonians - should be a belter!
Our clubs have voted to raise the fees for our officials to £40 and £22 (both flat fees).
The assistants’ fees where applicable will be split between the home and away teams.
#norefnogame
Here’s to a successful season for all our clubs, referees and officials as the league season kicks off tonight. ⚽️⚽️⚽️
A special thank you to all the volunteers who help make it happen. Too many of our clubs are crying out for a little help. Many hands make light work!
The League is attempting to put a package together to assist our clubs for the coming season 20/21
As you'll know we don't run the league for profit, so have to box clever with the means at our disposal.
But bear with us, we're on it 👍⚽️
Thanks to
@OfficialDHFC
for hosting and to both sets and managers and players.
This is LAL Captain Nick Holt collecting the John Howard shield after the 2-1 win.
Delighted that clubs voted unanimously in favour of the LAL becoming a Nike Partner League, one immediate benefit of which is that we adopt the
@Nike
ball as our match ball. Each team in our clubs will receive 3 Nike match balls and a LAL-embroidered First Aid Kit.
If your club has it's own clubhouse and gets a rates bill (even if it's zero) check with your local authority and you may be eligible for the £10k business grant!
At least one of our clubs has already received the money from their local authority, so apply through yours.
Tomorrow sees our season opener with our champions
@L_L_SC
pitting their wits against the
@LandCAFL
side
@mostonbrook
2.30pm kick off at Mytham Road, BL3 1JE
The prize is the Mushy Cup, which from now on will be played for between side between our two leagues.

let’s all remember that we’re all just looking to have a kickabout with our mates, against another set of mates, with officials & club/league volunteers only helping make this happen.
Sometimes asking your teammate how he’s doing can make the difference.
Our league will play this coming season with 5 subs and rolling subs.
This follows a proposal from one of our clubs which was discussed by clubs and voted on earlier this week. The motion was carried.
Our Rep Side play against our friends from the

@LandCAFL
on Wednesday 20th April 7.30pm ko at the
@LancashireFA
County Ground in the 100th game between our two leagues.
Our Mushy Cup kicked off the season on an excellent Rochdale pitch. Clements had the best of the opening exchanges and despite taking the lead it was Valley who went in 2-1. Valley were more dominant in the second half and ran out easy winners 4-1
Photos from our very enjoyable LAL Presentation Evening are available here with thanks to Martyn Roscoe for taking them. Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who makes our league what it is. ⚽️👍
Welcome to Mill Hill FC, Halshaw Moor, FC Bolton and Manchester Rovers who have been accepted into the league. Ask if you need any help.

@LandCAFL
this Wednesday 13th March at Avro FC.

All support welcome.
The league is saddened to learn of the passing of Dave Orrell of the Wigan Amateur League.
Dave was committed to the grassroots game and without volunteers like him local football would not happen.
We send our condolences to the league and Dave’s family and friends.
This Wednesday 20th sees us celebrate 100 years of games between the LAL and
@LandCAFL
The game is being played at the

Sat at our monthly committee meeting and all are disheartened to hear that there are several instances already this season of “thuggish” behaviour from certain clubs, players and management on the touchline.
We know who you are. It’s not acceptable. You will be dealt with.
Remembering that the LAL is not run for profit, this is a significant financial effort on the league's part. We trust these measures will be of some assistance in funding your Club for the new Season.
Stay safe.
It's our Meeting of Clubs on Monday 6th Aug 7.15pm start at The County Ground.
We'll also be holding an EGM about increasing refs fees and a club potentially joining.
Also handing out the 3 Nike balls and First Aid kits to each team thanks to our partnership with
@DiscountFK
To all LAL Clubs
Due to the sad passing of the Duke of Edinburgh yesterday, your club may, if it so wishes, observe a few moments silence before games taking place today.
Please speak with the opponents and match officials on arrival at the games.
At our Meeting of Clubs I had the first opportunity to grab a photo of our new President, respected and long-standing match official Haider Ali together with our Chairman Simon Lord.
We wish Haider an enjoyable tenure as President.

Pitch was in fine nick for the final last night, hoping for a similarly large crowd.
Finally , massive thanks to Pete Jackson for once again doing a great job as MC and to Peter Hames for pulling together one of the best dinners we’ve enjoyed. He can’t possibly not do it again next year after tonight’s tremendous evening.
Great to get everyone back together.
With a MASSIVE round of applause to Andy for doing them, our fixtures are now available on Full-Time.
I'll update the links from our website as soon as I can.
At last night's AGM we thanked Stuart Nicolson (who will remain on the Management Committee) for his year as President, and welcomed
@OldMancsAFC
Howard Shore as our President for the coming season.
