PrEP is free. It protects from HIV. Take 2 pills at least 2 hours before sex, then you can continue daily. Kung one time lang ang sex, make sure you take daily until 2 days after the sex event. (2-1-1 or more)

Kailangan ba mag-abstain from sex when you start PrEP? Kaya 2 tabs agad, para mataas ang levels for protection during sex. For 211 or on demand, protection rate is about 87%. For daily PrEP, protection is achieved on d7 sa penile & anal sex. D21 for vagina. Prtxn rate is 99%.

So if you want a higher rate of protection of 99%, wait tayo ng d7. Condom muna. Pero kung ok ka sa 87% protection, pwede 2 hours wait. PrEP protects against HIV, but not against other STDs. Pero anlaking benefit ng PrEP. And free siya. Crea twice a year ang minimum paid lab.

Having HIV is not a crime. Undetectable=Untransmittable The risk of transmitting HIV through condomless sex when you are UD is ZERO. Having said that, to prevent other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, and syphilis, best to use condoms for added protection.

Long acting HIV medication as PrEP under study. Injection every 8 weeks, vs daily TDF/FTC. Pinicture-an ko na, it may be the closest I'll get to it in a while. This is also being tested in combi with RPV for 2-drug treatment. Would you want a shot every 2 months or daily pills?

Sometimes one thing is harder to accept. Took a kid 10 years to admit sexuality freely, and be able to talk about sex and preferences. HIV was an easier topic as a young adult. Kids carry double (HIV, sexuality) and even triple (+drug use/ mental health) stigma. Be gentle.

As early as Feb 25 SHIP requested for an official statement from DOH regarding having HIV treatment hubs as vaccination sites so disclosure won't be a problem. Last Mar 12 we presented the issue at PNAC mtg for action. Gusto lagi i-call out sa media e.

I've been asking the Kids about U=U for 3 years now and I can say >90% may alam. They learn from us, on their own online, or through other people. Kaso pag tinatanong ko about U=U in real life, may konting hesitation. Bakit kaya?

How to get away with murder, S3 E7 HIV disclosure before sex "I'm pos. Like undetectable. It's actually safer to have sex with a condom with me that someone who's negative but hasn't been tested recently." These are things the PLHIV knows. But what about the other party?

Tomorrow we meet on HIV testing policy and I am thrilled to see Self Testing there. About time. I've read a lot of literature on HIVST lately and yung suicide due to it ay hindi nahanapan ng evidence. We definitely need this. Lalo na ngayon ⬇️ ang testing dahil sa COVID.

Working with younger colleagues has made me appreciative of boundaries, self-care, and respect for time off. I just need to explain to my mentors how it works so expectations are managed. Sa ibang bansa, expected na 'to. Dito may konting transition pa. Sandwich generation? 😂

It took six months for my kid to go from online meetings while bedridden to being able sit in front of me, unassisted, in person. What a feeling for him, his caregiver, and me when we all met in the flesh. We couldn't stop smiling about it. Kapit lang, mga kabataan.

Mahirap makahanap ng ospital ngayon, kids. May overlapping symptoms ang COVID at ang common OIs ng HIV like PCP and PTB and other kinds of Pneumonia. Kumonsulta sa inyong doctor kahit online para sa mga nararamdaman. Hindi lahat ay COVID.
