My name is Kara. I played soccer in the English premier league while getting my grad degree, deployed to Afghanistan with special ops units multiple times, and worked at a Big Tech company in California. None of this fulfilled me like becoming a mother. Harrison Butker is right.
My friends and I spent our twenties in third world countries working 20 hrs a day for months to make sure terrorists didn’t come to the United States. Now they get to walk right in.
NEW:

reporting an Afghan on the FBI terror watchlist has spent almost a year in the U.S. after he was caught & released by Border Patrol at the California border in March 2023. NBC reports the watchlist shows he is a member of Hezb-e-Islami, a U.S. designated terrorist
My father and I both deployed to Afghanistan. Two generations in the same war.
Though we don’t have boots on the ground in Ukraine, “as long as it takes” is not a viable strategy. Our involvement in this conflict requires an endgame.

The CCP spy balloon is small potatoes compared to the CCP spy app.
TikTok collects the locations, private messages, clipboards, keystroke rhythms and more of tens of millions of Americans—every hour, every day.
Governments are not the only actors capable of encroaching on Americans’ individual liberties. Private, monopolistic corporations should be held accountable if they violate these liberties to the degree Big Tech that has in the past 1.5 years alone.
I tried girlbossing so hard.
Deployed with special ops units, worked at a Big Tech company in Silicon Valley, even played soccer in the women's English premier league after college.
But nothing compares to starting a family. Nothing is as fulfilling. Nothing.

Not true.
Not here to scold women.
But to raise the alarm. Today:
✔️More than 1-in-3 young adults will never marry.
New record.
Huge implications.
Big Tech companies have proven themselves irresponsible stewards of their government-enhanced power. A recalibration of their relationship to the American people is warranted.
Quick explanation of the problem here:
Modern society tells girls to look to pop stars and business women for inspiration. They ought to look here instead. To the foot of the Cross. To pain and beauty and redemption and love. To a mother and her son.-

If we do not strike at the heart of Big Tech’s toxic practices now, others will cont. to follow suit until campaigns against Joe Rogan/Spotify, Airbnb bans & GoFundMe fraud gives way to climate change compliance, ESG & other social credit machinations as requisite for daily life.
If we do not arrest the infringement of natural rights by these “private” companies now, the future is a tech-enabled social credit system based off nebulous appeals to “safety” & “harm” that will render dissenters from prevailing leftist narratives second class citizens.
Yes, and now imagine this but on steroids when Google and/or a handful of Big Tech companies control the most important AI models.
Actual end of truth type stuff.
CONFIRMED: Google is already suppressing searches on the "assassination attempt on TRUMP."
This is clearly an attempt to prevent political support for Donald Trump.
Big Tech is once again r*gging the presidential election.
For all you “conservatives” who don’t want to use power when you have it because “it will be used against us later.” WAKE UP. They’ve been using it against us for a long time.
Our choice is clear: we can no longer play by the Marquess of Queensberry rules (h/t

Yet the damage has already been done.

2. The constriction of digital life beyond social media.
This goes far beyond Trump & Twitter—it’s about every Americans' ability to take part in modern life: This past week's actions by GoFundMe & Airbnb are just scratching the surface:
My mistake here a few weeks ago was thinking that the students and leftists chanting “from the river to the sea” didn’t realize what they were *truly* saying when they quoted the Hamas charter.
I was wrong. They all know EXACTLY what they are saying.
Too many gatekeepers of information—elite media, academia, various organs of the culture, and public institutions—are in thrall to leftist ideology. As the past year+ has borne out, Big Tech companies are not afraid to exercise their power in the service of this ideology:
3. The targeting and exploitation of the next generation of Americans.
Big Tech is well aware of how their products deliberately addict a younger and younger demographic and tear at the moral fabric of our society.

“If they ask you to get coffee, be the best darn coffee-getter they’ve ever seen.
If they ask you to take out the trash, be the best at taking out the trash they’ve ever seen.”
Let me add to this to clarify...when I was young, one great piece of advice I got was be the non-complainer. When asked by someone to do something, I would do it.
When asked to build a deck, I did it. And obsessed about every word, transition, image and animation until I felt

American hostages are still in Gaza. Nearly two dozen Americans were killed during the Hamas terrorist attack.
We’ve got skin in the game.
Biden should start acting like it instead of prostrating himself before both woke and anti-American protestors at home.
My comments on
•Allow American citizens to hold tech companies accountable for their inconsistent application of policies via the judicial system.
•Require transparency in content moderation practices, algorithmic impacts, and data collection, storage, and sharing.
This is ultimately a deflection from how the platform operates to silence conservatives as we speak—think Facebook “mistakenly” labeling the photo of Trump raising his fist during his assassination attempt as “misinformation.”
The answer to the Big Tech problem exists in solutions that promote human flourishing and arrest the infringement of God-given rights by private entities, such as freedom of speech. 🇺🇸
•Impose costs on tech companies for ties to the CCP and other adversary nations. Ensure compliance w/ Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and take measures to prohibit certain joint ventures, such as:
First, Congress—with relevant federal agencies—should:
•Enforce anti-trust laws and reform & modernize them where necessary.
•Scrutinize Big Tech companies' ad tech model.
•Establish executive liability.
•Reform Section 230. (cont.)
But now if Mark can surf with an American flag, learn how to fight, go on Rogan and say 'whoops' just like he did in 2022 over Hunter’s laptop and bamboozle Washington and some Americans into thinking his company ISN’T rinsing & repeating the playbook of 2020, then he’s sitting
Our proposal acknowledges this truth and reflects an imperative to protect Americans’ natural rights against abuses flowing from the consolidation of power—whether by the government, private corporations, or a combination of the two.
In June, SCOTUS rejected state efforts to permanently block the Biden Admin from doing exactly this: working with Big Tech to censor and police the speech of Americans.
And he KNOWS the Democrats like what Facebook is doing at present, so they won’t go after him.
And he KNOWS
State legislatures, executives, and attorney generals should:
•Continue to fight Big Tech censorship and practice through state legislative action to seek accountability, transparency, and fair treatment for all users.
American citizens should:
•Strengthen grassroots efforts to demand transparency from these companies.
•Look outside Washington, D.C. for enduring solutions.
Facebook's suppression of legitimate speech at scale during the 2020 presidential campaign and his “Zuckerbucks” helped propel Biden into office and set the country we grew up in on its current path of destruction.
Tech companies should:
•Explore privacy-preserving tech and privacy by design initiatives to shore up data privacy.
•Institute additional mechanisms for user control.
•Build with full stack in mind.
BUT he is coming out in this conveniently-timed way because he has taken stock of the landscape and he’s assessed that he will ultimately face NO REAL CONSEQUENCES for his platform’s eager acquiescence to government demands to censor Americans’ speech.
An array of the following recommendations can be deployed simultaneously. Each of these approaches has potential advantages and drawbacks—none is a panacea. However, the aggregate effect should be far more scrutiny, pressure, and oversight over Big Tech companies.
The China-Russia alignment has been growing for years, especially in the digital sphere. If, as my

TikTok is effectively an arm of the Chinese Communist Party.
The amount of U.S. adults who get their news from TikTok has tripled in 2 years.
Nearly two-thirds of American teens are on the app.
An estimated 30 percent of PRE-teens use it.

JD Vance: Kamala Harris wants to use the power of government and Big Tech to silence the American people from speaking their minds.
Fact Check: True.
If the reports are true, I’ve never seen anything like this after almost ten years analyzing the digital profiles of bad actors as a CT analyst for the military and a Big Tech company.
You rarely get an Al-Qaeda operative with (presumably) this level of OPSEC.
Highly irregular.
Beamer then recited Psalm 23, concluding, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.” Immediately after, he turned to his co-conspirators and asked, “Are you guys ready? OK, let’s roll.”
One of the first things I did when I got to DC from Silicon Valley was explain to lawmakers that Big Tech companies see themselves as GLOBAL corporations, responsible to a GLOBAL constituency—first and foremost.

Elon's takeover was widely touted as THE market solution to the censorship problem. But today proves it's time to stop running away from the reality that the Big Tech issue requires POLICY action as well. Yes, that means using govt--federal and state--while building out of this.
Deeply grateful for the opportunity to testify yesterday.
Thanks to bicameral efforts years and years in the making, we now have a real chance to secure a national data protection framework for our citizens.

I’ve always thought Mark’s instincts are better than the actual (non-technical) decisions he makes.
See his October 2019 Georgetown speech, where he proffered Facebook as a free speech platform and counterweight to a censorious China. Or his 2020 claim that “the best antidote to

We can't count on billionaires as free speech white knights in other cases, so platforms need BOTH technical solutions & policy options.
