Just watched an indigenous Repatriation of Tongan ancestral remains from Australian Museum to Fele’ave cemetery in Kolomaile, ‘Eua, Tonga. The absolute reverence and respect for the dead. Love my culture for this. 🙏🏾

throwback to when I’d go to family functions decked in certain Ta’ovala (traditional Tongan waist mat)… I attended a family wedding in Utah while also honoring one of my mehikitanga (dad’s sister) who passed at the time in Tonga by wearing a large ta’ovala.
