No one should ever feel unsafe at a school. We need ⁦ @NYCSchools ⁩ to ensure that both teachers and students are safe and respected. Learning to respect a view that is different from your own is what should be taught at school not used to intimidate.

Tonight our community stood up against hate & embraced inclusivity. We expressed our constitutional right to peacefully protest @MomsForLiberty1 who have pushed anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, advocated for banning books & even had a newsletter that quoted Hitler. We moms said no.

Spoke at @CB8M this week about adding protected bike line infrastructure. There's no crosstown bike lanes between East 78th & 90th streets! We absolutely need more connected crosstown bike paths to prevent these horrific deaths, injuries + collisions

In 2007, when my son was 2, we almost lost him to an anaphylactic food allergy reaction. What saved his life was an Epi pen which thankfully I had with me. The Dr at the hospital he was admitted to said if we did not have an Epi pen with us he would not have survived. 🧵

As a proud Jew and daughter of a Holocaust survivor, I stood tonight with over 10,000 New Yorkers who came out in solidarity with Israel as we unequivocally condemned the terrorist atrocities committed by Hamas. This was the largest slaughtering of Jews since the Holocaust.

The right to peacefully protest is sacrosanct, but intimidation & threats are never acceptable. The footage from @cooperunion is absolutely horrific. While NYPD is reviewing it and I have been in touch with them, it is despicable to make students feel unsafe.

This afternoon an armed robbery at a business (Nino’s) on 1st Ave btwn 72nd and 73rd St. I have spoken to @NYPD19Pct . No injuries, a search/investigation for suspects is underway. Additional police will be present this week in vicinity. I will keep community informed of updates.
