I never understand why people refer to “go-arounds” as “crazy” or using similar language. First of all a go around is a STANDARD safety procedure initiated at any point on final approach, usually in the landing configuration to discontinue that approach.

We had an interesting failure in the electrical system on our way out to HYD. The lowest level of alert on the aircraft are STATUS messages. These are inhibited for certain phases of flight to avoid distraction to the crew. After take off we had multiple messages appear

Even with a total hydraulic failure (virtually impossible) the #B787 is still flyable in roll and pitch with electric actuators as a backup. The arrows show electric spoilers on the wing #engineering

Victor Golf (G-CIVG) bowed out of the @British_Airways fleet yesterday. Delivered April 1995 (24.6 Years). Arrived on it's final revenue flight from Chicago on Sunday morning (17th Nov) as BA294 then later positioned @HeathrowAirport – St. Athan for decomissioning as BA9172.

The fourth and final heritage livery has just been confirmed. This will be the Negus design which was painted on the fleet from 1974 to 1980. B747-400 G-CIVB will be re-painted shortly
