Completed six months as Dean Academics, and what a stretch it has been! By the end of day one, I had to convey that classes are being suspended because of Covid-19. A rapid transition to online teaching followed along with many things where a new way had to be found.

Astro group at IISER Mohali met briefly to bid farewell to Ashish Kumar Meena and Manvendra Pratap Rajvanshi. They graduated last month and will move to post-doctoral positions. The group met in person for the first time since March 2020, everyone is vaccinated.

An important thread on gradual increase in astronomy programs at the BS - PhD levels, with no corresponding change in the number of faculty positions. We should compile data for India as well. @asipoec
