Mookie Betts: "I know, for me, I was already tight with everyone in the clubhouse ... but now that everyone has my back more than I already thought, means a lot. I’ll always remember this day and I’ll always remember this team having my back. This organization has been amazing."
After the Dodgers won the World Series, most of the questions for Andrew Friedman focused on how Justin Turner wound up on the field tonight after two positive COVID-19 tests after the game and, most importantly, stayed there after the team photo. This story won't be going away.
Dodger Stadium announced attendance:

Spent the last 12 hours in ER with my dad. Long story short, he’s expected to pull through. Thoughts and prayers are welcome and appreciated.
Also, congrats to Kenta Maeda on his $1 million assignment bonus.
The FBI compiled a 313-page dossier on the mother of Dodgers coach George Lombard. Before she died, she dodged the KKK. Now she's inspiring her son to speak up:

Shohei Ohtani is reading his statement in Japanese. Will Ireton, sitting by his side, is now interpreting. "I'm very grateful that the media has been patient in this process."
Ohtani says he's "sad and shocked that someone I trusted has done this."

There are nine members of

here at Dodger Stadium. Four of them just threw ceremonial first pitches. None of them came anywhere close to their targets – they made Nick Young look good – and I’m wondering how much worse the other five can possibly be.
In case you wondered how the Dodgers managed to win 2 out of every 3 games, dominate run differential, and still drive their fans nuts for six months, the first three games of this series offered a great primer.
I asked Nez Balelo directly about the surgery Shohei Ohtani had. He said it has no name - that’s how uncommon it is - and his progress so far is ahead of the typical Tommy John surgery timetable for recovery.
Yasiel Puig (via interpreter): “(Hundley) told me to stop complaining and step back in the box ... he just kept coming after me and kept complaining. I wasn’t going to let them disrespect our house.”
Per a source, Shohei Ohtani's camp invited Yoshinobu Yamamoto to attend the Rams game tonight at SoFi. That's how both players wound up on the "celebrity guest list" for the game. But Yamamoto can't make it. An effort was made.
Dave Roberts: "This is not a political issue. I understand there’s an election coming up, but this is a human issue. .... A black man being shot seven times in the back, it can’t happen.”
FACT CHECK: Yes, Vin Scully used to say "deuces wild," but not on an 0-and-2 count. He saved the phrase for the occasion of 2-and-2 counts, typically with 2 outs in the inning.
The Dodgers finished the season with the most runs scored (349), the most home runs (118), the highest slugging percentage (.483) and the fourth-fewest strikeouts as a team in MLB. Mercy.
During batting practice, Clayton Kershaw hit a fly ball headed for the right-field bleachers. A.J. Ellis caught it on the warning track.
“Over?” Kershaw asked.
Ellis threw the baseball into the stands.
“We have a budget,” Kershaw yelled.
Jason Alexander is in attendance tonight. He was shown on the Dodger Stadium video boards just now, identified as "George Costanza, Yankees assistant to the traveling secretary."
Mookie Betts believes the best way he can support Cody Bellinger is by listening and being a sounding board: “He doesn’t need more coaches. I’m sure everyone in the world is trying to help him hit.”
The Dodgers put together a pregame video tribute to Alanna Rizzo, their longtime reporter for

I can't tell you if Max Scherzer is having a good time right now, but I can tell you that he is standing shirtless on the field, with goggles still strapped to his head, giving an interview on camera.

The difference between the Pirates and a Little League team is that, in Little League, the first baseman’s mom would have been yelling “step on first base!” and he would have been able to hear her and the inning would have ended uneventfully.
Trevor Bauer: "I’m trying to be better in all walks of life. I’m committed to being better on social media, better in the clubhouse, better on the field, better in life in general."
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (well, two of them anyway) are on the field receiving their community service award. The fans are almost unanimously applauding. Their moment on camera in the stadium was over in less than 30 seconds.

Dave Roberts said he learned Justin Turner would be doing an in-game interview with ESPN about an hour before yesterday’s game. “I’m not a fan of it,” Roberts said. He said that would be the last in-game interview with a Dodger player on the field.
Andrew Friedman said Russell Martin was excited to be coming back to L.A. "He wants to win a championship. That's what he talked about multiple times, and said I'll do anything you guys want. I'll play the infield, I'll play the outfield ... even pitch."
Tension is not knowing whether your father, placed on life support two weeks before the due date, will be around to see his first grandchild. This little guy reported healthy this morning. He must be a pitcher or a catcher.
