Yesterday, my husband mentioned to employees how many people have died in our region from covid in last month (the most since Feb 2021). They said they had no idea people were still dying from covid because they never hear anything about covid anymore. Public Health has failed us

Things I have learned during this pandemic (feel free to add on)…. 1. Public Health should be renamed Political Health 2. Most people’s capacity to care is short lived. 3. Most people are unwilling to do simple things to keep others safe. 4. We do not learn from mistakes

My family was a wee bit upset with me that I declined a big dinner get together tonight. Just found out it got cancelled last minute. Guess why? Multiple people sick with the “not covid that we didn’t test for” that’s going around. I can’t even.

Currently being guilted-by my own mother-for not wanting to dine inside in a tiny restaurant crammed with ppl. I made patio reservations but she is worried about it being too cold. You can put a coat on, you can’t avoid an airborne virus with no mask on. I am so done with this.

Went for a haircut today. My hairdresser saw I was wearing a mask and immediately said-hang on, i’ll put a mask on, and grabbed a KN95. It’s wild to me that my hairdresser cares more about my health, and is more respectful, than most “Health Care” workers. #HealthOverPolitics

In all seriousness, have ppl’s memories been erased? Do ppl not remember that in 2021 they masked at grocery store, mall, pharmacy, etc & never got sick? There were no lockdowns in 2021. Ppl could interact freely, yet, no constant illness like now. Scroll thru SM & everyone is🤒

Isn’t it kind of eerie that most people can just forget the suffering & death that occurred in the last 3 years? Over 53,000 Canadians were killed by covid. It’s like it has been completely erased from their minds and they have zero motivation to keep it from happening again. 1/

@beantowndancer @amy_is_tired I saw an Internist that had a large sign in her office stating: “don’t confuse your Google search with my medical degree.” Ppl wait months to see Drs who spend 5 mins with them & (in my experience) are condescending & make significant mistakes. We need to be informed & advocate

Omg so many posts like “my kids now have some weird virus with pink eye, congestion and fever” after constant covid, RSV, flu etc. on FB 🤦🏻‍♀️ accompanied with “the masks really ruined our immune systems.” How can people possibly be this ignorant? How?! It is 🤯

@JudithCollinsMP @FlyAirNZ Having a stranger’s hot, covid filled breath on me from 2”away for 6 hours is not the “personalized” experience I would want. It’s so interesting to me how obsessed ppl are with breathing in other people’s exhaled air.

How could any Public Health official or any Politician look at this, pat themselves on the back, and think they’ve done a good job? I know so many ppl IRL who tell me they want to start masking again, who know they should mask, but are essentially waiting to be told to do so 🤦🏻‍♀️

@AdithyaR_YXE Thanks, this is what we are going to do I think. I dislike the idea of someone working while + for a myriad of reasons. One being the fact that ppl need to rest while sick & this work is physically demanding, there is no real light duty work in 🦺 I worry about safety too w/🧠😶‍🌫️

Does anyone know what my local “Health Care” system is referring to when they say they don’t have a duty to protect patients while patients seek care in their medical facilities partly due to “new treatments to treat the vulnerable.” What are these new miraculous treatments?

Public Health has failed us so incredibly badly. I had someone tell me that my family members are so sick with covid because they “don’t know how to be sick” bc they have been “careful.” I don’t understand this logic. Would they not have been just as sick if they got it earlier?

@Jennife95911481 @elizavetaka That is really evil thinking isn’t it? It’s embarrassing that ppl think like that in their heads, never mind send it out into the 🌎 Why should my healthy child be mildly inconvenienced to help keep your critically ill child alive, and living as normal a life as possible? Gross.

I’m not sure I know anyone who has had covid in last several months who isn’t still having issues. Persistent cough, wheezing/shortness of breath, fatigue, gastro issues, *constant* illness (families with 6 diff illnesses in last 4 months). How is this worth it to anyone?

I still need someone to explain to me like I’m 5 how *more* ppl dying in 2022 from covid than previous yrs, + the fact that we are *well aware* that covid can cause long term damage/disability, ⬆️ risk of 🫀 attack, Autoimmune disease etc…. = yay pandemic over! 😵‍💫 🤔

Under the OHSA in ON, employers are required to take reasonable precautions to protect workers from illness/injury. From the 60 Mins segment, it is clear that ensuring the air is safe to breathe via filtration, ventilation & monitoring is a reasonable &necessary workplace measure

@birgitomo And it makes me think-if an experienced Nurse, who worked at this very hospital for many yrs, & who had her family with her for support was treated this way, how are other people-who do not have the health expertise/education & a support system present, treated?! Very worrisome.

So, my husband needs to see Dr. Earliest appt is in 7 weeks. In meantime, Dr refers to specialist who indicates that he may need to be seen sooner than specialist can accommodate, so referral will be declined. No specialists are seeing patients sooner. This is not Health or Care
