My

entry … A perfectly comfortable bed in my room in the family home. But it’s our last Christmas in this house after 11 years. Next year my parents downsize to their retirement house. This Christmas we are looking backwards and forwards.
The University have emailed me to reassure me that the

strikes won’t affect my teaching which is nice of them but I’m not worried because I’m not going to cross a picket ✊
It is with great delight that I am able to announce I have been recommended for training for ordination to the the priesthood within the Church of England. In September I will begin three years of training at the College of The Resurrection in Mirfield.
I remember a CBBC show where the government banned chocolate then in the final episode a video leaked of all the politicians eating chocolate and basically satire has never got better since
Something very you’ve just turned up at your child’s school and there’s a line of teachers who want to talk to you about their behaviour about this pic selection
Tonight at College dinner
@mthr_jo
was telling me about this painting of Jesus being told off by Mary and Joseph after being discovered in the temple and it did not disappoint.
One month til Mirfield and my robes have arrived immaculately made by J&M. Very excited for future years of wearing them. Please ignore the sandals and wonky surplice.
Prayers appreciated please as I have a meeting with my DDO tomorrow and I suspect we are going to start discussing where God might be calling me to after theological college
In honour of

here are my pics from when I went to see it and sat onstage for the whole play. We had voting pads and at the end had to vote if we thought the Ingrams were guilty. It was honestly the most fun I’ve ever had in a theatre.
As Chair of Labour Friends of Doctor Who we are going to be asking all the candidates:
Who their favourite Doctor is?
Who their favourite companion is?
Best story?
And what steps will they take as leader of the Labour Party to safeguard the show?
Spending vocations Sunday reading this to prepare for my BAP stage two in just over a week. Would be grateful for prayers for me and my fellow candidates at this time.
College is going well and I have the exciting news to announce that as the youngest member of the college I am ‘College Child’ and have the duty of cutting cakes at special occasions and putting flags up
The news was in the Parish Newsletter today. So I guess it’s a good time to say I’ll be moving to Putney in just over a week, to finally start my job as a parish assistant at St Mary’s Church and All Saints Church there.
That was probably one of the best performances I’ve ever seen. Jodie Comer was like a pendulum swinging between different accents, movements and emotions and you were with her all the way. Incredible command of the audience. A fantastic production.
Think I might have booked my last tickets ever under the
@NationalTheatre
16-25 scheme. A truly great scheme that means I've had some amazing seats for some amazing plays at great prices. It really opened up the world of theatre to me from my teenage years.
It is the first day of term
@CoRMirfield
so the college flag is flying. Some great views from the tower as it was raised. Please keep our community in your prayers especially our new students starting today.
I completely disagree with Jesus House’s beliefs on LGBT+ rights, which I was not aware of before my visit. I apologise for the hurt my visit caused and have taken down the video. It was a mistake and I accept that.
It’s been lovely seeing supportive comments about our College from across the CoE from those who trained here and those who did not. As one of the hospitality coordinators for the year I would warmly encourage anyone curious about training here to come and pay us a visit.
Grateful to have finished my first year at the College of The Resurrection. It’s been an amazing year with some great times with truly wonderful people it’s been a joy to be part of the Mirfield family. Looking forward to a rest for now but excited about the next two years.
A privilege to be able to be part of the Altar Party
@CoRMirfield
this morning for an incredible service. So blessed that God has given me this vocation and called me to learn here with all these fantastic people.

it was really delightful and charming. Enjoyed the joke about chocoholic monks a few days after speaking to an actual monk who called themselves a chocoholic. A certain use of location and music at the end made me very emotional as well.
Proud of my wonderful mum who after over 25 years is finally going to relax a bit. She is the most excellent priest and her ministry has touched so many people. I couldn’t have a better role model.
My official retirement was announced today. I have some mixed feelings but also much gratitude and a determination not to allow the last 18 months to overshadow what I hope has been a fruitful ministry.
I try not to ‘ordinand post’ too much but I’m pleased to have received my reading list and information about joining the college in two months time really excited to spread my wings and step into this new chapter
Jarel is my predecessor and we have never actually met but he has been consistently kind and supportive whenever we’ve spoken. His insight wisdom and ability to speak truth to power if a gift to the Church. Tom Harwood needs to be quiet.
I preached and had my last official Sunday in my placement at Dorchester Abbey today. I’ve loved my time here. In this team and I have worked with an incredible group of strong inspiring clergy who I’ve learnt a lot from. As well as a lovely encouraging and humorous congregation
Wishing all a Happy Easter, we’ve had an amazing Holy Week at Mirfield. Celebrating the joy of the resurrection, a reminder that the love of God will always triumph in the end no matter how powerful the forces of darkness are.
We were truly blessed to have the Archbishop of York visit college this evening. He preached one of the best sermons I’ve ever heard and provided great encouragement challenge and inspiration in his after dinner conversation. A reminder of the great joy this vocation is.
Sad to see political leaders doing photo opps at churches that have problematic attitudes towards LGBTQ+ people. I’m proud to be part of a community that works towards inclusivity and hope one day all churches will be as welcoming.
@youngvulgarian
This is what happens when people realise HP functions as a basic political allegory but don’t actual read properly complex books afterwards
In other exciting personal news I am now confirmed to be doing an English MA at Oxford Brookes this academic year. Hitting the books after a year off will be a bit daunting but I'm excited for the challenge.
I am preaching tomorrow in one of Mum's churches while she is off. I don't think either of us would have expected this to happen when I was growing up.
Finished my placement today at the Hospital Chaplaincy. It’s been a terrific few weeks. My confidence in myself and my ability to provide pastoral care and support has grown. It was a real privilege to observe the chaplains up close as they made the work of Christ known there.
