A theological college like no other: one of 11 Anglican theological colleges in England, we offer full-time ordination training to women & men of any tradition.
@susanhillwriter
We are here to celebrate the future ministry of these ordinands, not to impose our own prejudices upon what women chooses to do with their hair. I donβt think further discussion is needed.

I would encourage people to please not aim targeted, personal criticism at ordinands they have never met, and who are giving their lives in the service of Godβs church and Godβs people.
Fr Peter Allan CR presided and preached at the College Eucharist last night, in what will be his last time doing so after 31 years of involvement at the College. We are so thankful for all his years of loving service, and wish him well. He has touched the hearts of so many.
Pleased to welcome our ordinands (minus those unavoidably absent), though we are sad that we have no women this year. But weβre looking forward to a blessed year learning and praying together.
When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh

The ordination stoles have been blessed, and weβve celebrated, and shed a few tears. Wishing the very best to all our leavers. You will be always in our prayers!
Former student returns as Principal.
Bishop Mark Sowerby is to be the next Principal of the College of the Resurrection in succession to Fr Peter Allan CR, who will retire at the end of the academic year.

The College gathered on the eve of St Matthewβs Day for the start of a new academic year. We are pleased to welcome new staff, along with new ordinands. Refreshed and reformed by new faces, the college community looks forward purposefully to the year ahead.
Itβs a week since I officially finished College and entered a weird transition between ordinand and curate. It is also around this time last week that someone chose to comment on the colour of my hairβ¦ Iβve said very little about it since thenβ¦ a thread π§΅
Please pray for all

ordinands who are on pre-ordination retreats this week, and who will be ordained Deacon or Priest at the weekend...

After a four month delay due to Covid, we managed to hold our Deaconsβ Week. Last week seven past students came back to Mirfield prior to their ordinations to the priesthood. They go with our love and our prayers.

Well itβs a bit of a dull day weather-wise, but the College flag is flying ready to meet students, both new and returning. We pray for safe travels to us, and for a wonderful year ahead.
This yearβ College Sacristans, Sam & Fran have been training a new generation of students in the use of a thurible. All students share in serving at the liturgies of the College and Community of The Resurrection.
One of our students has drawn this βPresidentβs eye viewβ of Lower Church as a leaving gift to Mother Jennifer from her Tutor Group π Beautiful!
After delayed ordinations due to Covid 19,the College of the Resurrection is delighted to present the Deacons and Priests of 2020. They go with our love and prayers.

We are confident that Mirfield is a supportive environment for all ordinands, regardless of their gender, and the recent PER commended the atmosphere of mutual respect. This yearβs demographics are highly unusual.
On Sunday a group of our students travelled up to the Cathedral at Newcastle upon Tyne to support Mother Jennifer at her licensing which took place during Evensong. Around 20 supporters from the College attended. We wish her well.
A very warm welcome to our new, and returning students who are travelling to us for the start of the new term. Safe travels, we look forward to gathering as a group for the first time later today.

Weβve been busy over the summer β walls decorated, carpet cleaned, reading lists checked, new door β the College Library is ready for the new semester!
The college offers its best wishes loving support to The Revd. Dr. Dorothea Bertschmann who was Ordained Deacon today at Bradford Cathedral. Dorothea is the colleges Academic Dean and is currently serving her title at Dewsbury Minster.
Students and staff, past and present, join together in congratulating M Jennifer on her appointment as Director of IME Phase 2 for the Dioceses of Newcastle and Durham. It is too early to wish her well as we look forward to continuing this term with M Jennifer and Georgia.
Weβre very spoiled with great cake and biscuits, as well as good food in general, so our catering manager Matt is a very important person in college.

The College of the Resurrection celebrated its Foundation Day on the feast of SS Simon and Jude. Even during the current pandemic and with the restrictions placed upon us, we managed to have a socially distant evening of thanksgiving and celebration.

Tomorrow a group of our students are doing the Advent Sleep Out Challenge. They will be joining with Mirfield Team parish to spend one night outside the comfort of their College rooms in order to raise awareness and support this good cause.
The College was sad to learn of the death of its oldest and longest-serving former student, Canon Douglas Davies. Fr Davies came to the College in August of 1944, having graduated from Bangor. He left in 1946 for a curacy in the still young Diocese of Swansea & Brecon. After...
π We're delighted to announce the appointment of Revd Wendy Dalrymple as our new Precentor, Residentiary Canon Designate and Head of Worship and Events -
We look forward to welcoming Wendy to the Canterbury family!
Members of College will be joining together for half an hour of silent prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, for justice, reconciliation, peace, and an end to hatred and war, before our prayers for peace continue at Evensong.
In response to the ongoing crisis in Israel and Gaza, please join in the global day of prayer and fasting on Tuesday 17 October for justice, reconciliation, peace, and an end to hatred and war
Benji Tyler left us at lockdown in March after what should have been three years with us in Mirfield. Now, like so many other Ordinands, he awaits his ordination. Benji writes:
The College is pleased to publish this Audio-Visual introduction to life, study and formation in Mirfield.
We hope it will be seen and enjoyed by prospective students and those who advise them as well as our many friends and followers.
We were delighted to welcome the DDO for Chelmsford Diocese, Fr Philip Need, last week. Students and staff are always very pleased to see Directors of Ordinands and we receive their visits as an encouragement both to individuals and to the College.

A group of college students, led by Dr Dorothea were privileged enough to visit Manchester on Saturday to see P52 at the John Rylands library. P52 is a fragment of John's Gospel which is likely the oldest piece of New Testament papyrus that survives worldwide.
