y’all were dragging Chloe for Swarm when y’all should’ve been dragging Damson for using the same accent he does in Snowfall for a Black man from Houston!
if I knew this would make y’all profess your love for 8 ams I wouldve never tweeted it lmao. anyways, pray for sister girl…she gon be mad come homecoming.
making gumbo using my boyfriend’s mom’s recipe this weekend. there isn’t any okra included which feels blasphemous, but she’s actually from NOLA so I just hope I can live up to that expectation.
going to school in the AUC taught me that “I feel uncomfortable around ‘hood’ people” = “I’m uncomfortable w the aesthetics of poverty until I can use them as fodder for dissertations, debates, fashion shows, & ‘got it out the mud’ stories”
I’m sorry but Anika Noni Rose is LITERALLY the voice of Princess Tiana & she looks almost exactly like her. If anybody needs to play Tiana in a live action it’s Miss Rose...
sometimes I regret caping for HBCUs bc they really are just institutions of white supremacy that exploit students under the guise of community and belonging. a marketing ploy if you will.
this is my neighborhood. 5 car dealerships, 1 grocery store, & now this huge black-owned space. If y’all don’t put a spot where we can buy some actual groceries (not tea or juice) in there imma know something fr.
I don’t understand why y’all are arguing back & forth about this vaccine. You either gon get it & be allowed on campus or you not & you gon sit yo ass at home. it’s simple.
& TWO I’ve seen those same people hate “hood” people until it’s time to validate their own experiences. either way I find it funny bc, in my experience, it’s not them that we need to worry about…you ultra-suburban mfs are the ones that scare me.
there is no movement w/o black women, w/o black trans womxn, w/o disabled black women, w/o dark skinned black women, w/o fat black women, w/o the black women y’all love to disrespect. this is our shit. you better act like you fucking know.
I just know y’all aren’t romanticizing the Jim Crow era. there’s a difference between SEPARATION and SEGREGATION. Black people would’ve flourished under separationist ideologies, segragation was never beneficial to black people.
