Today was the memorial service for my sister, Michelle, who passed away last week. Do not underestimate the power of your public witness. So many nonChristians gave testimony of her faith and piety. It was beautiful.

While preaching today I went from my second point straight the conclusion, skipping my third point. Realized what I did and had to move back up and hit my third point. Then back to finish the conclusion. Preachers fail, God’s word doesn’t. Make sure you’re giving them the word.

I first began to think through the abortion issue (as the murder of the innocent, not merely the exercise of a woman's choice) in 1988 while listening to Slayer. Their song "Silent Scream" confronted me w/ the brutality & horror of abortion in a way I hadn't before considered.
