One of the best questions my coach ever asked me:
“When you take away everything that makes you bad, what’s left?
Everything that makes you good.”
Simplify. Do less.
I truly feel for the freshman student-athletes who haven’t experienced college team lifts this fall.
They helped me learn how to:
- be accountable
- set goals
- utilize mental skills (visualization, self talk, etc)
It was a HUGE part of my development.
Recruiting Tip: figure out what’s important to you in a college program.

Late bloomers:
Strengths:
- great work ethic
- forced to understand how to learn (not as naturally gifted)
Weaknesses:
- confidence?
If you develop the confidence, where are they relative to those who were “elite” early on?
An amazing interview w/ one of the top coaches in college baseball!

Beyond grateful for the opportunity to connect with Jarod & Joe on their new show!
Love talking recruiting - the lifeblood of any program - plus helping their journey to educate coaches, players & parents in this process!
Absolutely love seeing high school prospect/recruiting videos incorporating more receiving clips along with blocking and pop times.
Shows receiving is being put at a premium now.
1) receive
2) block
3) throw
In that order.
I’m beyond excited and blessed to announce that I will be furthering my athletic and academic career at Fresno State! I’d like to thank my family and friends who have supported me throughout everything. Special thanks to

6.64 60-yard dash from Bay Area World Series a few weeks ago (got it down to 6.54 at Showball since). Also threw 87 mph from the outfield. Thanks again for a great event!

And today, I finally got a chance to read Jeff Banister’s article on coaching.

I know way too many high school players cross themselves off lists bc they couldn’t get it done in the classroom.
Current high school players:
Take care of your school work to give you more options in the recruiting process.
You won’t regret it.
Recruiting tip: research the GPA and test score qualifications for colleges you’re interested in...
Do you qualify for these schools with your current numbers?
