Grifol on today's team meeting: "I’m not going to take what happens in there out here. I don't do that ... It was beneficial but I’m not going to talk about it."
What a wild season it's been for Yoan Moncada:
Nobody on: .137/.182/.185
Men on: .278/.364/.478
RISP: .290/.367/.536
2 outs, RISP: .440/.548/.760
Late & Close: .353/.452/.559
High Leverage: .306/.397/.490
His season's been far from stellar, but Yo does indeed know clutch.
There are a lot of people on the national stage who are seeing our brand of baseball for the first time.
We make contact. We run the bases hard. We do the little things.
We don't care if you don't like it.

2025 White Sox: Party Like it’s 2005, All the Time
This lacks any context.
Attendance is “down” because of the fact that the Sox weren’t at full capacity until June 25.
Since June 25, the Sox’ average attendance per game is actually 33% higher than it was in 2019.
The upcoming playoffs are a high-stakes affair for the White Sox, whose own attendance is down 5 percent from 2019 while Jerry Reinsdorf keeps spending to win. My take for Forbes:
You know what’s cool? The following statement:
“Oh Liam Hendriks threw 16 pitches tonight and might need a day off? Guess Craig Kimbrel is closing tomorrow.”
I don't know how much credit you can give to Miguel Cairo for what's happening with the White Sox right now. I have my own opinions on the matter, but I'm not in the dugout.
But, as of right now, there's no way you can bring La Russa back to this team and feel good about it.

Lucas Giolito recorded 30 swinging strikes this evening. That is the second-most all time in a no-hitter, one behind some guy named Nolan Ryan back in 1990.
So the Sox used their best reliever when they needed him, kept the lead, and now they have a big enough lead to save their best relievers.
What a novel concept. Good job Pedro Grifol.
Overheard on my bus ride to Union Station:
“Exciting news about Grandal.”
“Yeah man, they’re building. I think they’re the next championship team in this town.”
The sleeping giant that is the White Sox fan base is awakening.
Good Morning. There are currently only 5 AL pitches that have been worth at least 3 fWAR this season:
Carlos Rodon, Gerrit Cole, Nathan Eovaldi, Lance Lynn…
… and Dylan Cease.
I don't think Sox fans understand how big this should feel. There's no way they plan to trot a AAA team full of Castillo's, Sanchez's, or Engel's out there to be embarrassed on the national stage. They plan to put their name back on the map in a big way. Anything else: major bust
Even if you don’t think Cubs-Sox is a rivalry, it’s still far less fun with middle of the week games in May and I have no idea why MLB schedules it this way.
White Sox fans who act like they would’ve given Chris Bassitt or Marcus Semien the chance to develop in Chicago is hilarious to me.
It took these guys 4-5 years to get to where they are, yet Dylan Cease is a bust after 25 starts.
1) One of the worst hitters leading off? ✅
2) Defense-First C at Designated HITTER? ✅
3) Best Hitter batting 7th? ✅
4) Guy who homered yesterday on the bench? ✅
This is a lineup you run out there when you've won the first two games of a series, not lost them.

reliever Ryan Tepera's comments about continued sign stealing: "Coming from someone like that, it's not going to matter much."
This move means so much more than "destroying the narrative" or even signing quality players rather than marginal talent.
It means Boras was right: Free Agents are buying into what's going on in Chicago right now.

have agreed to terms on a four-year, $73-million contract with free agent All-Star catcher Yasmani Grandal (

Mercedes spent 10+ seasons in the minors waiting for a chance to play in MLB. I find it refreshing that he doesn’t take one AB for granted.
If TLR and/or Eaton are upset (based on this video & others), I’m more disappointed by that than the reaction on the Twins broadcast.
Royals just swept the Twins.
If I’m the White Sox coaching staff, I’m watching that entire series, pitch by pitch, and figuring out what the Royals did to exploit weaknesses in the series. Learn from it.
I know everyone wants Madrigal. Maybe it's just the Mendick fan in me, but I'd have a hard time telling the guy who's hit .303/.338/.515 with a .359 wOBA and 130 wRC+ since Madrigal's injury to ride the bench.
Mendick might be a long-term piece of this puzzle. Ride the hot bat.
If I’m Timmy, I ramp it up now HARD. Next time I homer? Pimp it. HBP next AB? Flip the bat and hype up the dugout. Scream “FREE BASE!” at your dugout or something. I’d make teams hate me.

I genuinely do feel for Abreu.
It says a lot about the guy that he is the only one still sitting out there as the team has already cleared out for the day.
Something not likely pictured on television... the Chicago grounds crew working like mad in between innings when White Sox coming out to the field, but for the Mariners... standing water, meh... hang with 'em.
I expected some big departures from the Cubs this offseason, but this one came as a shocker. Sources have confirmed to The Athletic that Len Kasper is leaving the Cubs to take the White Sox radio play-by-play job. Story:
My take on this Apple TV broadcast, since I know everyone wants it:
I don’t think they’re biased. I just don’t think they’re very good nor prepared lol.
Sure, Cesar Hernandez isn't the most high-profile move in the world, but he's now the co-leader in home runs for the White Sox, so let's not pretend there aren't things to like about the move.
You get 5 innings out of Dallas Keuchel where he only gives up 3 runs, you say thank you and go to the bullpen immediately.
Overall, he looked pretty good. Pitches were moving well and he was mixing it up well.
I’m prepared to make this statement:
White Sox fans have been looking for a prospect who can come up and be a star right away, instead of having to go through the classic adjustment period. I think Andrew Vaughn has the best chance to be that prospect.
Why is no one talking about this part of the Rosenthal article? It’s easily my favorite lol.
(To say something positive: I appreciated everything that Getz had to say)
I don’t think we’ve learned anything we didn’t already know this series:
1) Astros are a very good team
2) Sox are undermanned, and that’s going to show against good teams
3) Even so, there’s spots where the lineup could use a shakeup
No need to panic - it’s why they play 162.
Here's something I'm not sure has been mentioned yet: the White Sox actually gain $6M in 2022 salary space with this trade.
If indeed the Sox were at the top of their budget, they now have an additional $6M to find an extra SP/RP to shore that up a bit now.
People don’t hate the Astros because of the 2017 sign stealing scandal.
They hate them because 4 years later they’re just as good and they’re afraid their team still can’t beat them.
#ForTheH
The Sox could’ve won the series. They didn’t. Bieber could’ve dominated the Yankees. He didn’t. The Twins could’ve scored more than 2 runs. They didn’t.
Sometimes, baseball doesn’t work out the way you want to. And that’s okay.
Here’s the thing: we can complain all we want about guys like Moncada, Anderson, and Colome getting snubbed. But think about it: when’s the last time the White Sox have had SIX players putting together All Star-quality seasons??
This thing’s heading in the right direction.
Many have said, “Trade Vaughn, the Sox need to win a WS now,” without considering the best version of the 2022 White Sox likely has Vaughn on it.
I’m not saying hold onto him at all costs. I’m saying if they trade him, it’s gotta be for the right player, not just any player.
There’s a difference between “the White Sox are playing poorly” and “the White Sox are not good.”
Far too many of you are confusing the two because of a 5-game stretch in April.
