I love this guy’s response but, unfortunately, a kid born to Irish parents in Japan won’t get automatically a Japanese citizenship. In Japan, one of the parent must be Japanese to qualify for the citizenship. 😅

In response to the trash problem on Miyajima, volunteers like this lovely woman are walking around main sights collecting trash from visitors - really appreciate their sustainability focused work but local businesses & govt should fund them - at least please say 'thank you!' 💕

Japan needs more foreign workers to fill the labor shortage gap, but the transition to accepting more immigrant labor has not been easy so far according to @japantimes - I was sad to read that although 25.3% of foreign workers in Japan are now from VietNam some are being bullied

Sad news as our cute & friendly little cat Lani-chan died today - the neighbors called me to the front of the house- thankfully she didn't look like she had suffered poor thing 😭💔 we will miss her dearly but it give me comfort that she had a happy little life full of cuddles

If you sell products with trash like single-use plastic container vending machines or eateries, you should be required to take the trash back as taking responsibility for your part of the problem Unfortunately THIS is the norm all over Japan with the common excuse being a lack

Many stations in Tokyo completely removed trash cans from the facilities What were the results? Trash all over These are the ATMs near the exit of Inokashira line What also doesn’t help: vending machines with no receptacles to toss empty containers

Best decision we made when remodeling this 60 year-old Japanese house was replacing the wall between kitchen and living room + office with a counter that also had support beams - I appreciate all the open space, natural light + not feeling alone in the kitchen 😍 #remodel #japan

This was an interesting part of visiting Hahajima island - the a rubbing of your shoes to take off all dirt, bugs and parasites before & after boarding the ferry - sea water or diluted vinegar is used - as a way to stop nasty flatworms from destroying the protected snails, and

We're having a no AC summer so far because of the killer 40% energy hike So little mist fans like this really help - this is a nice one that lets you put ice-cubes in the top which chills the air - might also be good for camping as it runs on a c-usb cable 💕 😎 Stay cool folks!
