A lot of Rohingya refugees, especially youth, in Bangladesh are just as addicted to social media as any of us. They can't leave the camps, can't go to school, can't get a real job. Social media is where they learn, express themselves, and connect with peers.

After extensive planning, Centre for Peace and Justice at BRAC University ( @cpj_bracu ) has launched two projects in Cox's Bazar. In partnership with BRAC we are bringing university-level experiential learning opportunities to the camp and host community. Congrats to all involved!

Just realized I've been in the U.S. for three months already due to Covid. Missing all the Rohingya, Bangladeshi and international colleagues and friends I've worked with closely for the last few years in Cox's Bazar. Not sure when we'll meet again...

The rights and protections Rohingya people want are SO basic. Most of us have never pondered what life would be without basic rights, yet they endure the threat of trafficking and a million other concerns every day. The world's failure to do better for them is a shame on us all.

The need for immediate relief for fire victims is overwhelming. People sitting in the ashes, no water, food, clothes... So many pleas for help. I know we are all fatigued from witnessing the endless tragedies, but our support is desperately needed, again. DM if you can donate

Internet and mobile phone access should be immediately restored in Rohingya camps. This is an emergency situation and protecting people is critical. Communication is part of that.

Another fire emergency...setting up an emergency fundraiser. DM me if you can donate. At least 400 shelters burned down. People don't have shelter, food or clothes. We can at least help fill gaps for some families as humanitarian services mobilize.

Coronavirus is going to lay bare the lies of authoritarian regimes around the world. But human lives are the cost.

A group of Rohingya youth in Cox's Bazar are trying to donate Iftar foods to the community during Ramadan. They are having a harder time finding supporters than in previous years. Please get in touch if you can contribute or connect them to anyone who can. Thanks!

All over the #rohingya camps, the educated youth are voluntarily, quietly teaching basic English and Burmese literacy to young adults, elders and religious leaders alike who didn't have a chance to attend school due to discrimination, but still have a dream of learning to read.

Civilians in northern #Rakhine State in #Myanmar are facing the worst humanitarian crisis since 2017 and it is quickly getting worse. There may already be *tens of thousands* of people gathering near border areas. They need urgent humanitarian assistance but there is NONE.

Don't say you want human rights for Rohingya if you support child marriage for Rohingya girls. Girls are human and all humans deserve rights.
