For many ethnic people of Myanmar, Min Aung Hlaings military never left their streets. 100,000s are homeless in camps after military attacks. The military try to divide and rule because they are afraid of the power of all the people of Myanmar united against them.

Today’s killing of unarmed civilians, including children, marks a new low. We will work with our international partners to end this senseless violence, hold those responsible to account, and secure a path back to democracy.

As the number of peaceful protesters killed goes up day after day, perhaps it's time that @DominicRaab realised that banning a handful of generals from holidays in the UK is not having the impact on the military he bizarrely seemed to think it would.

Another sign of desperation by the military. The people of Myanmar are resisting the coup facing bullets & death while the UK, EU, USA & others make statements instead of taking action. Not one country has even stopped their companies doing business with the military.

These simple steps should have be done in the first hours after the coup, before moving on to other ways to pressure the military. The people of Myanmar will win their freedom, but not one government in the world can claim they are doing everything they can to help them.

A month on since the coup, peaceful protesters are being shot on the streets, and still the UK, US & EU is moving at a snails pace to respond. They must: Sanction military companies now Build a global arms embargo Join the genocide case at the ICJ Support referral to the ICC

. @DominicRaab keeps welcoming what the US is doing but never gets round to doing anything himself. 1) Sanction military companies 2) Build an arms embargo coalition 3) Support ICC referral 4) Join genocide case at the ICJ People are dying. A sense of urgency is appropriate.

Welcome news from @SecBlinken of further sanctions targeting the Myanmar Commander-in-Chief’s family and business interests. The UK is exploring additional sanctions too – we are clear the regime should not be allowed to profit from abuse of power and human rights violations.

Remember when people try to argue that the military don't care about sanctions and international pressure how they are spending millions of dollars on lobbyists to try to stop sanctions, and invite CNN into the country.

Extraordinary scene in Yangon as ordinary people - presumably not allowed to meet the CNN journalist who is on a military-escorted tour there - bang pots and pans in protest across the city. #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

A campaign success! In Burma, Asia and Europe people were calling on the EU to sanction military companies. The EU should sanction timber and gems next, another big revenue earner for the military.

Death toll from #Myanmar #military targeting/attacking #Hpakant #Kachin at a #KIO music celebration rising to at least 80 now with media reports of additional over 100 injured. This seems to the largest fatality in a single attack/location by military #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar

For the record the British government refuses to say they support referring Myanmar to the ICC and refuses to join the genocide case at the ICJ. This Minister is talking about accountability but refusing to act on accountability. @nadams .

It is sickening that #Myanmar military has today killed dozens of unarmed civilians during its Armed Forces Day. There’s no justification for such cowardly acts which bring more shame on the #Myanmar regime & its leaders. Those responsible must be held to account.

Coup, Covid and Climate Change. Now floods hit Myanmar on top of everything else. Min Aung Hlaing can't even hold a successful coup, despite all his soldiers and guns, let alone tackle a pandemic and climate change. He has destroyed the economy. He is the Abaddon of Myanmar.

The UK, USA and EU need to start providing much more aid to displaced people in ethnic states. Tens of thousands have been forced to flee their homes since the coup and most are not receiving aid from the international community.

Dear @SchranerBurgen1 Myanmar is a country of many religions and ethnicities. The military have the mindset that Myanmar is only a Burman Buddhist country. This is the root cause of decades of conflict and dictatorship.
