One of the strangest phenomenons in hockey is how many people get offended when I suggest a player will be a good fit for Division 3. It’s hard to make D1 roster and there are plenty of D3 colleges in NE that are great schools with good hockey teams.

Hearing a few parents wanting their `06s to play 16U next season. Seven of the `04s on NTDP u17 team played 15 Only in 2019-20. Rushing will only hurt your child's development. Slow it down. Let them get more puck touches. If they're good, the NTDP, USHL and NCAA will find them.

Minnesota Duluth has 16 players dressed from the state of Minnesota compared to UMass who has just 2 dressed from state of Mass. Minutemen do very good job recruiting outside the state, but it’s another good indicator of how messed up development model is in Mass. currently.

Norwich, coached by Cam Ellsworth, hasn’t given up a goal since January 24th. Nine shutouts in a row. Senior goalie Tom Aubrun has a .969 save percentage on the season. Norwich has always had great teams, but Ellsworth is really good at X’s and O’s.

Hockey East and UConn fans should be real disappointed in school's proposal for a new 2,500-seat hockey rink. College hockey games should be played on campus, not at an out-of-date AHL rink 35 mins from campus. Mike Cavanaugh and his staff deserve better.

There’s a misconception about the NAHL among many prep school players. It is not a step down from the BCHL. The NAHL helps prepare players for Division 1 Over the last two years, 20 D1 commits have played for @BlackBearsNAHL . That includes Hockey East, NCHC, ECAC, AHA & CCHA.

UConn and Hockey East should both be ashamed this proposed rink plan is being allowed to go forward. College hockey is special because of on campus arenas, fans, tradition. UConn should have built a 4,000-5,000 seat facility on campus and ditch playing 30 mins away in Hartford.

Really cool aspect of Adam Gaudette winning Hobey is how many college/NHL teams doubted his skating, but Jerry Keefe/Jim Madigan saw something in him. With their guidance and his dogged determination, he now has NHL contract after being the best college hockey player of 2017-18.

I go to a lot of games every year. I’ve missed the emotion of a team winning a championship. Haven’t seen it in almost 12 months. Xaverian coach Dave Spinale is one of the best guys in hockey. Happy for him and glad to see a champion crowned even in a weird year for HS hockey.
