I can’t even explain how it feels to make it this far after 5 years of hard work. I’m so incredibly proud of this team and what we have achieved… so far. The future is bright 🖤
I've built a small React library to render components targeting a different component in the app tree. It's called react-tunnels 🚇. Check it out here 👇
Next.js 12.2:
◆ Middleware: Dynamic routing for your entire app
◆ On-Demand ISR: Update content without redeploying
◆ Edge Runtime (Exp): API Routes and SSR based on Web standards
◆ `next/image` (Exp): Faster & more flexible new version
Github was acquired by one of the companies with more contributors to crucial open source projects like Node or Webpack. The same company that brought you VS Code, Powershell and Typescript and open sourced Chakra. This is not necessarily bad, don't be fucking assholes.

Today we successfully ran in production an optimisation that can make Vercel Functions cold boots up to 40% faster. I'm excited to make it available for everyone 💃
Today, we announced Bytecode Caching at Vercel Ship. Rolling out in the coming weeks, your Node.js functions will be automatically optimized to speed up cold starts. This can get you up to 40% faster TTFB for large bundles 🚀. Super pumped about it!

What I like most about going to conferences is the incredible amount of amazing people I meet. When I come home I always feel like I can't wait for us to meet again! ❤️

This is the enabler that allows us to break free from many limitations imposed by our upstream provider. Aside from the performance boost, it enables us to have a metadata transport, key to building some breakthrough features in the near term. We've never been a 'wrapper'
Vercel Functions are now faster—and powered by Rust.
◆ 30% faster cold starts for smaller workloads
◆ 80ms faster (average) and 500ms faster (p99) for larger workloads

Le darán el contrato a una mierda de empresa enchufada que vive de la sangre de los becarios y el resultado será una puta mierda igual que todas las webs y apps públicas de este país. Que me los den a mi.

came up with this in 2017 FYI. Do you think he’s the best designer ever? He’s even a better person. Let that sink in ™️
My only take is that if you are ditching TS because you need to work out "type gymnastics" which kills the joy from programming, maybe you just suck at designing the right abstractions 🤷♂️
Therefore, I'm joining Vercel starting next year!
I'm lucky that I'll get to keep working on React together with the amazing teams at Meta. I'm also excited to work closely with the equally stacked team at Vercel.
The good thing about GDPR is that, if you don't agree on terms, you are supposedly unsubscribing from *everything*. Well... everything but Pinterest, they don't give a fuck. Almost a fresh new start 😂

One thing that we need to get better at is communicating how to make the best use of Vercel. In this case it would be a static site so it would be very cheap.
This is what we do! We identify an user issue, we help with with it, and then we extend it to help everyone to avoid the same mistake. Already available to everyone, no code changes required, just deploy 🚀
