Do yourself a favor and find an alternatives to ad*be. I promise you, Photoshop is the only decent photo editor you need, but for drawing/vector/video software you can find stuff for a cheaper price. Don't pay subscription service for something that should be a one time payment.

I think people forget that: -Fanart is copyright infringement. Most companies are not going to go after every single case of fanart so they "allow" it for cons. They accept the loss. -Hoyo already made their billions so they encourage the scene. Most companies don't do that.

Because I've seen comments about this, Yuzu having a Patreon is NOT the reason Nintendo went after them specifically. Companies sell you emulators. Paid emulators are legal AND Nintendo knows this. Nintendo specifically abused an untested part of the DMCA system to do this.

Ask any mangaka and I guarantee you 9/10 all of their characters would be considered Japanese. The only exception to this rules would be fantasy/sci-fi settings and characters from other countries. Most managaka will make it pretty obvious if a character is a foreigner.

If you're going to take on commission, you need to treat it as a job. The fact is that when money is being introduced, it is now a business transaction with an expectant client waiting for their product. People have a right to know where their hard-earned money is going.

Maybe an unpopular opinion?? but I feel like you should never ever rush an artist you are commissioning even if they take months or even a year on your commissions. Like artists are people too and life happens. It really means a lot to them if you just tell them “no rush!”

this could cause controversy but my biggest problem with ATLA is how it depicted colonized people as villains for using violence against settlers. Characters like Jet and Hama get horrible treatment simply for fighting back the oppressing nation
