Today, I start beginning work on my next port. I never wanted to do this one, since I'm such a fan of Super Metroid, and feel that is the definitive way to play a Metroid game on the SNES. But, after porting Zelda, I started getting the itch to port Metroid to the SNES.

Side by side. SNES on the left, NES on the right. I have successfully ported all the way to the main gameplay screen, with soundtrack playing, and vram counters for items and heart containers working properly! Next, I'm on to porting over controlling Link.

Took me 10 days. Mega Man ported natively to the Super Nintendo. Going to tackle some very minor issues, one being my cgram conversion/upload routine bleeding out of vblank, causing rendering issues at the top of the screen.

Celebration time. I did it, I actually pulled it off. 💥 Successfully converted the sound engine in Mega Man III, from 6502 to SPC700, all apu registers modified for @JoeParsell 's 2A03 emulator. All happening in the spc700, there is ZERO SNES CPU USAGE! Video showcase up soon

Already at REV-A with my Contra port, heh. Had an incorrect JMP, which caused all OST's except for one, to not boot past the title screen. For those that know the Famicom version inside and out, hope you like what I've done. @RetroRGB @MyLifeInGaming

More fine tuning of the code i wrote, now with Down held you can shatter through rows of bricks, and i added in a detection for when you are on top of a multi coin block.

Good morning! A little late, but here is the comparison video I've put together of my Mega Man III SNES port. This demonstrates the difference from the SNES processing the sound engine, and the SPC700 processing the sound engine. I'm very happy with the results! Alot of work!

Wanted to show the improvement with this game running on the SNES. No slowdown with maxed enemies on 1 screen, even with projectiles. And no sprite flickering, since the SNES has a 32 sprite limit on the X axis.

The Legend of Zelda SNES now at REV-G. Fixed a minor issue with my L shoulder button when cycling through inventory. If you only had magical boomerang and not the standard one, you wouldn't be able to cycle to it, only with rhe R shoulder. All set now!

"Houston, the Mega Man has landed" This was done last night, but fell asleep before posting Ice/Guts Man have some issues due to incorrect CHR throwing off the asm, but aside from those 2, & Elec since his stage is a vertical stage, all the starting horizontal stages are 100%

My Zelda port from NES to SNES is coming along. I've got movement implemented for Link, he also has his hit detection against solid objects, and now working on entering caves. Will be using window masking w/ hdma, so that the HUD doesn't get lost during cave transitions.

Update on my port of Metroid to the SNES. Today I'll begin working on implementing a save file system to my port. I will still have password functionality available, ontop of the save file system. Once I'm able to accomplish that, expect a public release shortly after. 🙂

Update on my Metroid port. I now know what to do with all the areas in this game, in regards to their theme. Lots of shuffling of code and modifications, but now I have the main theme working, and this will also be the case for the others once I get to them.
