I followed UP 22 elections extensively. For media, the biggest issue in West UP was “Farmer agitation”, on ground it actually was Women’s safety/Law and Order. Every one had horrifying, chilling stories to narrate. Kudos to those Hindu Jats for showing Ms their place in 2013.

Not the worse thing I've heard. In West UP during SP govt, muslim guys would harass, even touch girls inappropriately...right in front of UP police and police would look away. Many such horrifying stories from Namazwadi Era.

People keep comparing capex during Modi vs UPA. It’s not like UPA can’t build infrastructure, it’s that they don’t. Schemes like MNREGA keep people happy and Rural areas will remain Rural. Note that it’s Rural seats which keep Congress alive in Hindi belt.
